More like a three star hotelPosted 23-Jul-2014
Pros: As above.
Cons: Breakfast- no fruit, cake was quiet dry, no option of having fried of scrambled eggs. The hairdryer in the room needs updating
Location: Brilliant location as three minute walk to Termini Train station
Stayed her for three nights and staff friendly enough. It is not an equivalent to an English four star hotel. It is rather a three star. We stayed on the 6th floor, inner side of hotel rooms, which was quiet. The only thing was that you heard the chairs being moved about in early hours of the morning as people were having breakfast on the 7th floor. The room was clean enough, but no tea and coffee facilities. There is a good working air con in the room, which you need in the heat. The WiFi does not work from the rooms and can only be used in the reception area. Breakfast was OK, nothing brilliant. Overall OK and would stay again. It is only a three minute walk to the Termini train station, which gets you anywhere.

close to amenitiesPosted 21-Jul-2014
Cons: Breakfast. Could do with updating furnishings.
Location: Ideal for getting about
Very close to terminii and other public transport. Breakfast very basic but edible. A few more choices would have been nice. Room very clean. Ideal situation for reasonably prices restaurants and exploring Rome.

Champagne PalacePosted 17-Jul-2014
Pros: Price, cleanliness, location, breakfast
Cons: ambience wholly lacking. It is 'posh functional'.
Location: some good corner stalls selling very well priced water, snacks beer, and some good restaurants. Plus Termini station for the metro
It was excellent value for what I paid, but is simply not a 4 star hotel. It is good and central, the staff all very helpful and the room clean. The room was a bit small, and the bathroom rather tight. The breakfast was fine, but not overwhelming. Nonetheless, for price and location it represents good value and a useful base

Good value hotelPosted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: The location, the décor in the lobby, the breakfast.
Cons: There were too many very loud tourists coming and going in the middle of the night on our floor, with nothing done to keep the noise level down.
We used the hotel as a base close to Termini for a short stay in Rome. It is perfectly placed for pretty much all the public transport means you are likely to need (except the Leonardo Express to Fiumicino really early in the morning, which only starts around 6 am). The staff were great, very friendly and always eager to help: they checked us in hours earlier than their timetable and were professional throughout. The breakfast is ok, nothing too fancy. The room was a standard double, which seemed rather small. Very old TV with only 10 channels, functioning air con, reasonable mattress but not the most comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean, the shower was draining a bit slowly, but there was nothing major to fault. A lot of restaurants around, and a short walk to Santa Maria Maggiore and other attractions in the city.

Hot roomPosted 1-Jul-2014
Cons: Fix the air conditioning or don't claim to have it.
Despite claims, the air conditioning in the rooms does not work. You will need to ask for a fan.

Nice hotel close to centerPosted 23-Jun-2014
Pros: Friendly staff, clean bedroom and bathroom. Hot shower. Easy to access all main attractions.
Location: Lots of shops selling holiday gifts. Good quality restaurants. Walking distance to the colosseum we did a tour for 25 euros great value.
We went for a long weekend break, Champagne Palace Hotel is in a good location for all site seeing attractions. A basic continental breakfast is served (friendly/helpful staff). A small grocery store located round the corner for all your refreshment needs. Short walk to bus and train station, easy to access all the hop on hop off buses. Lots of street sellers, and good local restaurants.

Stay in RomePosted 23-Jun-2014
Pros: Near train station.
Location: Train station 2 blocks away. Plenty of shops and places to eat in all 4 directions.
Great hotel. Very basic living quarters. No a/c, but fan was available. Hotel 2 blocks away from train station.Staff very helpful. Check out was at 10a, but staff allows you to leave luggage in lobby while you continue your vacation in Rome. Absolutely great stay. If you are a picky traveler, then pay 5x more and stay somewhere fancy.
