Definitely recommendPosted 24-Sep-2014
Our stay was fantastic! The location is perfect as it's close to the station for the metro, train to airport or bus tour. The room was lovely and bed comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful

A great base to explore Rome.Posted 24-Sep-2014
Pros: Convenient for the Metro, bus & train station, providing access to the airport & different areas of Rome.
Cons: It would have been nice if the bar at the hotel was open during our stay. Quality of food served at breakfast was basic, but acceptable.
Location: Good access to local public transport. I would recommend a local restaurant called Elettra.
The furnishing looked a little 'tired', but this paled into insignificance, because the reception staff where friendly, welcoming and provided assistance when required. The rooms were cleaned daily, and our room had a mini bar & safe. The Champagne Palace Hotel provided us with a great base while we explored Rome.

good hotel, close to metro and bus station.Posted 18-Sep-2014
Pros: staff where extremely friendly and helpful
Cons: we found some items at breakfast to be very sweet, and not to our taste.
Location: Santa Maria Maggiore is very close to the hotel, lovely restaurants near by, and only 2mins from metro station and main bus station.
we found this hotel situated very well for access to all we wanted to see in Rome. a wonderful experience, would definitely stay here again

Nice hotel close to Rome railway stationPosted 4-Sep-2014
Pros: Hotel staff. Breakfast and its view. A perfectly adequate room. Ideal for travel anywhere in Rome near rail, bus,Metro, tourist buses, walking
Location: We ate regularly in the evening at a restaurant just 5 minutes from hotel, where all staff were friendly and meal good value Ristorante Pizzeria Aqui
The hotel staff were courtious and obliging. We took a travel plug but it was incompatible ( needed 3 pins not 2) but the hotel desk was able to come up with one for us a moment's notice, and free. Room was big, settee as well as chairs. TV had British news channel for information as well as a host of Italian channels. Room cleaned daily and well, clean sheets and towels. Air conditioning adequate. Breakfast on top floor (7th. floor using lift) with good view towards church domes. Food good - cereals, meat and cheese, hard boiled eggs, rolls, croissant, sweet cakes, yogurt, fruit juices sweet needed watering, coffees teas, hot choc. Internet access via your i-phones,etc. in lobby area only.

Former gloryPosted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: central location near Termini Station
Cons: air conditioning terrible. It is on the very busy main street but I needed the window open to even attempt sleep.
Location: 1 block from Termini so perfect if need access to rail but there are many other hotels in the area.
a formerly grand hotel that has seen better days. for a 4 star hotel the breakfast was poor and easily worst of any I experienced in 2 weeks in Italy. The hotel seemed almost empty but if you reduce services because of that it becomes a self perpetuating exercise.

Not a four star hotel!Posted 12-Aug-2014
This was going to be our longest stay during our holiday and we expected it to be magnificent because of the four star rating and pictures etc. How disappointed we were!! The hotel would have been a four star hotel in the 1920's but it isn't now. Our room had filthy walls, DIY wires on the ceiling, outdated curtains and furniture, an absolutely DISGUSTING bathroom. At first glance it looked as though the marble had a somewhat black tinge but when closely observed, it was actually mould!! Mould grew profusely in the corners of the shower. The cleaners lack attention to detail which is not what a four star hotel would have. Not only that, wifi was only available in the downstairs lobby which was extremely irritating! We wanted our own privacy and space and we didn't want to listen to the grumpy italian concierge yell over someone on the phone! All staff lacked customer service. They only go about their day, doing the minimum. No care to customers or for their hotel. Very upsetting!
