“I would go back tomorrow”
The hotel service was excellent. Whatever requests we had were responded to quickly and efficiently. The breakfasts were wonderful - I miss them. The staff was friendly and courteous. I can't say enough about this hotel. It was perfect for us. Not fancy but perfectly fine.
“Would stay again in a heartbeat...”
If you want to stay in a beautiful little hideaway hotel that has a great views of the Colosseum from outside the main door, then I highly reccomend this hotel.. (Note Anfiteatro Flavio is Italian for the Colosseum) We only stayed one night but I would definately stay here again if I ever get to see the great city of Rome again.
“Amazing location, adequate for short stay.”
The hotel was as expected from previous customer feedback. The hotel was relatively easy to find, and the room was just like photos displayed here. I understand that previous comments about hard bed, hassle of having to get to a room on the opposite side of the road and others, but as I had read the comments, it was what I expected. Staff could be a little bit more friendlier, though acceptable. They didn't always have the same person at the desk so it was awkward leaving the key behind while we went out. Breakfast was ok, just the usual food items. Amazing location for visiting the main tourist attractions, especially the view down the street straight to the Colosseum. I would recommend this hotel if you're not a fussy person and only for a short trip in Rome.
“Si c'était à refaire, nous y retournerions. Bien situé à prix très raisonnable.”
Nous avons occupé une chambre quadruple à 4. C'est assez serré mais pour passer quelques jours au coeur de Rome, c'est sympa. Notre chambre donnait sur l'arrière et était d'un calme absolu.L'isolation entre chambres est plutôt mauvaise mais n'a pas eu d'effet. Le PDJ est de bonne facture.
“Brilliant Location”
I take hotel reviews from independent travellers quite seriously as for me its the major selling point to make the booking. The hotel location was excellent. Its about a 10 minute walk to the colesseum and is very close to the bus stands which take you directly to the Vatican - our receptionist informed us of this. I found the hotel staff friendly and helpful. The only complaint I had was that the shower smelt of damp - I informed the receptionist who was very apologietic and moved us to a different room without any hassle. I would definetely recommend this hotel as it was clean (which to me is the most important aspect), brilliant location and helpful staff.
“Good Hotel”
This hotel is good value for money, the location was fine for exploring the city, only a 5 minute walk to the colosseum which can be seen at the end of the road. It took us just over an hour to leisurely walk to the vatican city, spotting other places of interest on the way. On arrival the hotel staff were very friendly and provided us with an excellent map. Our room was fine, what you'd expect for a 3*. I would recommend this hotel.
“Would definitely go back!”
I have to say that I loved this hotel, staff was great, why? They let me borrow a power adapter at no charge, and since they didn't have change, they gave me a call and the internet usage for free, also they were very nice and helpful too. The place was next to the Garibaldi Plaza which has bars around, which is the place were the students of the Pisa University hang and walking distance from the Pisa Central Station and the Tower Monument, I mean a 10 minute walk max, but is by the river too which is a beautiful scenery. The hotels itself, was very clean, is more like a classic style, maintain that way, which makes it interesting, the floors, decoration, architecture all classic, even the door locks. My only cons I had to share the shower (but was a one room, one person at the time shower, not a open shower), the bed was cheap, so a bit uncomfortable, TV didn't work and didn't have internet in the room, had to come down to the lobby. Other than that I think I made a good choice staying here and I would do it again if I go back.
“Great location but not what we expected”
When we booked our hotel here we did so for the location of the Coliseum. If you are looking for a hotel within walking distance, this is the place for you. When you walk outside & look down the street, there it is. It's absolutely gorgeous! When we checked in the staff was very friendly, helpful & and spoke english very well. However, when it came time to go to our hotel room we had to go across the street. I thought nothing of this until we entered our room. It looked nothing like the picture on their site. It was much smaller & had none of the decor we were expecting. It was just a crammed small. It had everything we needed such as a private bath & a double sized bed. But until this room I had never seen a bathroom that had the sink & shower on one side of the room & the toilet on the other side of the room. The A/C worked fine & so did the tv. It satisfied everything we asked for, we just would have preferred more space. I'm sure the rooms on the same side of the street as check-in looked like the pictures, ours simply did not & it was not what we were expecting. The staff once again was great.
“was great location”
everthing was okay but the sardine can of a elevator and the rooms was very small for the price too much money such little place but ur really paying for the location. the taxi too and from where very good and on time my flight was an hour lat too rome and the guy was still waiting patiently and i tipped him 20 euro for the inconvience was a good choice just too small
“Location great, everything else was not”
If you decide to stay at the Anfiteatro Flavio, call ahead to be sure your room is in the hotel's main building. The first night of our stay, we were placed one of the three rooms they keep in a building across the street. The entrance stank of sewage and the room was filthy (carpet covered in hair and dirt, mold growing in the corners of the walls, mildewy shower). We were also concerned about the security of the place since the doors to the entrance as well as the rooms were basically hollow, cheap laminate and there was no staff on-site in this across-the-street location. We asked to move to the main building and were able to be moved over for our second and third night of our stay. The cleanliness and security of the new room was an improvement, but still left much to be desired. Some of the staff members were friendly and helpful, but most were not. In the end, the only good thing I have to say about Anfiteatro Flavio is that the location was perfect for seeing Rome's big sights. Otherwise we stayed away from the hotel as much as possible.
