“Greatly enjoyed!”
Great during off season! Super quiet and slow, apart from very loud water pipes! Great price! Workers were very friendly and helpful in getting us into Rocky Mountain Park to snowshow! Only time we heard anyone in the building was when we were awoken early by a neighboring room's shower.
“Very special place to stay”
Really special place to stay in Estes Park. Located on a ridge overlooking the town and mountains behind, this lodge has a rustic feel and lots of history, but rooms offer very modern and comfortable accomodations. I have visited Estes Park more than a dozen times and this stands out as something truly unique. I will definitely stay here again.,
“Rustic Nostalgic Charm”
I loved this place! It was comfy, cozy and wonderful. I travel regularly for work and this was so much better than the typical hotel!
“Great place to stay!”
Great place to stay! Quiet and peaceful great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Room was very clean and bigger than expected for a studio. Will visit again.
“Superb Romantic place”
View is great from the room. It's historic lodge but they have kept it well. Will recommend to friends and family. Will stay there again.
“Very nice place to land for the night.”
My accommodations were great. The room was more than large enough for me, and the staff was professional and always greeted me with a smile.
“29th Anniversary Get Away”
The Lodge is lovely and they have retained much of the original character on the main floor. The suites have little character, but are spacious and well stocked. Our big disappointment was not having the restaurant open. When we made our reservation in March, the website said it would be open in "mid-May". We really wanted to be able to have an elegant dinner and wine without having to drive somewhere else. They decided later not to open the restaurant until May 25th, several days after our stay. Our only other problem was the erratic water temperature in the shower. It changed from what you set it at to boiling hot then freezing cold. Apparently this is an on-going issue. We DID get a free upgrade to a one-bedroom suite as the studio we had booked was going to be directly below the dance floor of the wedding that was being held over the weekend. This was greatly appreciated. VERY close to the town but it feels like you are way up in the mountains....
“Historic hotel”
HIstoric hotel built in 1914 which is a combination of classic decor and modern conveniences including free wireless internet. Accommodating staff that helped me check in 3 hours early. Hard to find because the mailing address is Riverside Dr., but the hotel is actually off Audobon. I drove up and down Riverside 4 times looking for the place before asking a local who clued me in on the real location. No food service in the winter, but there are nearby restaurants and delivery can also be arranged. I enjoyed staying there and thinking about Estes Park a century ago.
“The Crags was very nice!”
We enjoyed the Crags. It was a nice place for a one night getaway.
“Historic Crags Lodge”
My husband and I have visited the Estes Park area many times since 1976. We usually camp in the park, but since March is technically still winter in the mountains, opted for a nice warm room. The Historic Crags Lodge was a great choice for us. The atmosphere was very nostalgic of the original beginnings of Estes. If you like history, this is a great choice. We found the rooms very nice and comfortable and the decor very interesting in the lounging area. Don't miss looking through the huge photo ablum of 1914-1952. The studios are well equipped for someone who is staying longer than overnight. We would definitely stay here again. Draw back is your Tom Tom will not lead you directly to the lodge, but you can find it with little effort.
