“will go back if needed to return to Rockhampton”
Great meals great service.
“Cheap and fairly basic”
The Ambassador is located on the main highway North from Rockhampton, so there is a lot of traffic noise, although it quietens down late at night. It is a short walk from a major shopping mall. The motel is a bit run down but fairly comfortable. We did have a couple of experiences of being disturbed during the night by other patrons making noise, and knocking on our door by mistake. We had a suite with a second bedroom, but the staff never made the bed in the second room when they serviced it, which was our experience on our previous stay as well. The WiFi is free, but the signal was too weak to make a connection inside our room. There was a big flat screen TV in the main bedroom, and a small older TV in the second room. There was also a microwave and toaster. The main room was fairly crowded with a double bed and two singles. With two beds in the second room, the suite can take 6. It would be OK for an overnight stop but you wouldn't want to have an extended stay with that many people! Overall, it's OK as cheap and fairly basic accommodation.
“Screams BUDGET”
Unpretentious and fairly cheap motel. Everything worked but had the feeling of being very industrial. Near a main road. Internet didn't work while I was there but that's hardly uncommon these days. Fairly easygoing staff. Not a bad place but don't expect too much.
“Very clean pet friendly”
Good place friendly room service and pet friendly. Air Conditioner wasn't big enough to cool room but other than that would stay again.
“Basic motel at a good price.”
This hotel is well priced, but it is basic and looked like it was a favourite stop for truckers too. Havin said that staff were very friendly and I used the room service, which although again a basic menu, the food was good. There is a restaurant on site, but being a lone female I didn't really want to venture out of the room. It was fine for an overnight stay though to break up a long journey.
“Run down but cheap”
We had a family room, with a double and two singles in one room, and two singles in a smaller attached room. Both rooms had TVs with satellite channels. The main room had a microwave, kettle and toaster. By the time all of them and the TV sit on the counter, there is not much room for anything else. The other room had the fridge. The hotel is fairly run down, and the room was cramped. There is free wi-fi Internet, but it was too weak to use in our room. We have stayed there with three or four people in the room a few times, and they usually leave at least one bed unmade in the morning when they clean the room. The hotel is on the highway so there is a lot of road noise, although it usually is fairly quiet in the middle of the night. OK for a cheap overnight stop, particularly by fitting a larger group in the family room, but I wouldn't want to stay there for an extended period.
