“Quinta Palmera”
My favorite place to stay in Playa. I will never stay anywhere else!
“The Quenta Palmera is a great boutique hotel with excellant management”
The rooms in this hotel are beautiful, modern and simple. Each room is furnished with a confortable dawn feather bed in white, very pleasing to eyes, access to internet and LCD TV in every indevidual room, bathrooms are large and each has deep bath tub for two, calming marble walls, excellant service, short distance to one of the best beach in town and great Cocoa Cafe right under the hotel, for the morning coffee and fresh orange juice and every thing else you might like. I will stay there for every visit.
“A nice hotel, and conveniently located”
I recently stayed at the Quinta Palmera for 8 days in April 2010. Overall I would say my stay was a positive experience, although there are a few things to take note. On the positive side the room were clean, and the water in the shower was hot, though it took a few minutes and as was mentioned in another review, water from the shower did tend to spill out but it was never a major issue. Having a balcony with jacuzzi was great, and as I was there to scuba dive it made a great place to lay out my gear to dry. I did have a problem with the TV, apparently there was a glitch in the power that caused it to turn on about 2am one night, but this only happened once. Although located on Calle 30, toward the end of Avenida 5, the walk down the main street was short. Mamitas Beach Club was great, and was nice to have as a free perk of the hotel. If you happen to dive with "Diversity Diving" their shop is downstairs, so it doesnt get any closer. One drawback was having a down comforter, although nice looking it did get a little hot. Although I would certainly stay here again, there are many other choices as well.

“New and Different”
On its website, the Quinta Palmera says it is a new unique concept - and it certainly is different. Rooms have laptops and ipod docks but no mini-fridge. High end bath products but no facial tissues. Marble enclosed jacuzzi tubs worthy of a 5 star and showers which require a towel dam to avoid flooding the room. (The maid builds the dam from 5 towels so you don't need to.) Standard rooms are windowless. Suites have floor to ceiling window walls out onto the exterior corridor your fellow guests are using. (Only 6 rooms so few guests.) All that being said, I got a nice quiet modern room with a very comfortable king bed right on 5th Avenue close to the best beach in Playa at a very good price. (I've been to Playa 30 times and can recognize a good deal here.)
