“Small, charming, wonderful!”
Hotel was very much as advertised. Right on 5th Avenue, but not on the busy, noisy part of it. Perfect distance from a perfect beach. Room was comfortable, air conditioning worked very well, but beds were quite hard, which we were expecting. One thing that worried us was that our door could easily be opened even when fully closed and assumedly locked, however, we brought it to the attention of an employee and it was fixed the same day. Friendly front desk staff gave us advice about things to do whenever asked. I would definitely return to Posada Mariposa if I find myself in Playa again.
“Qualité/prix: j'y retourne”
hotel sérieux,je recommande: personnels souriants,sympa disponibles, les chambres sont confortables avec clim et ventilateur,télé,frigo,coffre. Nettoyées tous les jours,les lits sont confortables.Bien que situé sur la rue la plus animée de Playa del Carmen,aucun bruit perceptible,les chambres sont au calme à l'intérieur du patio.Idéalement situé à proximité des plages,commerces,transport.Je recommande qualité/prix.
“Will definitely go back”
I was very satisfied with my stay at Posada Mariposa. The service was great and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and excellent quality for the price.
“I miss it already”
A tiny,cozy,clean place,with a very helpful,friendly Hotelstaff. This Hotel was exactly what we were looking for,small with a bit of native flair,by far better then these all inclusive Hotelchains. I would go back there in a Heartbeat.
“Playa del carmen better than Cancun " I"ll be back"”
Like i wrote before, had a great time in Playa del Carmen, one's you get familiar with it! it's easy to go around.
“Great budget hotel!”
This was our third trip to Playa and the third hotel we've tried. It was a great deal for what we paid -- very pretty, clean, and pleasant. The rooms weren't luxurious but they were very clean with working A/C, which was all we really needed. The staff was super-nice, and I think the location is the best in Playa -- the north end of Quinta is much quieter and nicer.
“Relaxing place”
Hotel atmosphere is very quiet, rooms clean and smell great, and it's close to the beach. We had access to Mamita's beach, which made the visit to the beach more enjoyable. There are no phones or clocks in the hotel room. The beds and bed linens, however, are very firm.
“Great, clean simple hotel”
The room we got looked exactly like the pictures. The front desk staff were all really nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is great, its right on 5th avenue, but you have to walk a few blocks to get to bars that stay open past 11 or 12, so its pretty easy to get to sleep. I would say, if you're a light sleeper, maybe ask for a room off the street, because trash and street sweeper seem to come every night. Construction sounds from next door would wake us between 10:30 and 11, but that seems to be going on all over the tourist area.
“Great value, great price, can't wait to go back!”
This hotel was perfect! Close to everything you need: shopping, dining, beach, taxi service, and even Walmart! Very quaint, clean, and friendly. I plan to visit again in July. There is a great restaurant across the street called La Vagabunda that has a fabulous breakfast for $7 USD. The beach club is a couple blocks away, and there is shopping on 5th Ave. Good value, great price. We did not hear any noise at night. The only thing this hotel does not have is a pool, but we went to Mexico for the BEACH!
“Clean, Friendly and Great Location”
Very Quaint little hotel (as are many of the small hotels along 5th Ave). Close to Beach, shopping and great food (and a Starbucks coffee). Try the Argentinean sausage across the street on the corner. I don't think I would spend more than a couple of days as there is no pool or other amenities, but for an early arrival before you check in to your resort it is a great option. Playa Del Carmen is a neat little town full of options...
