“Wonderful vacation!!”
The hotel had only been opened for about 10 days when we arrived. As a result, we would see a lot of work still being done all around. They should consider having more activities during the day and entertainment in the evenings. An airport shuttle would be very welcome in order to avoid the high taxi/ shuttle rates. Overall, we had a great time and would consider going back.
“FANTASTIC! Would go there again for the food alone”
Brand new, very luxurious, still working some kinks out. Construction was still taking place, but the staff was very accommodating and on top of everything. Loved loved loved the food, seriously it was gourmet at every restaurant in the hotel--some of the best food I've ever had, and it was an all inclusive! Absolutely the nicest resort I've had the pleasure of staying at!
“Perfect Vacation!”
Amazing Hotel !! Food and drinks were great !! Crew was extremely friendly !!! Rooms were gorgeous !! Best Vacation Ever!
“Wonderful stay in paradise”
This is a beautiful, newly opened resort. The architecture is modern. There are two sides; La Perla is adults-only and La Esmeralda is for families. Adults staying on the Esmeralda side can use the facilities on the La Perla side which is nice. We stayed at the La Esmeralda and were upgraded to a one bedroom suite. Great rooms with kitchenette (microwave, frig-soda, beer, snacks, table), sitting area, and two flat screen tvs. Beds were very comfortable. Balcony with sunny sitting area and whirlpool tub. Pools are nice, but beach area is small. The food was the best we've had at an all inclusive. "Amigo Eric" hooked us up for a special dinner at La Palapa which was wonderful. Look him up if you need anything. All the employees in the restaurants and bars were so nice and helpful. I would go back tomorrow...
“simply the best”
excelent, the best. es un excelente hotel, la comida demasiado buena, la atencion demasiada buena, la habitacion lo mejor,
“Paradisus Playa del Carmen”
The hotel was brand new as it just opened on Nov 30. Therefore there was some adjustment done while we were there. Overall, the hotel and service they're providing is great (modern architecture - lounge type) and at the level of a 5*. Staff was not fully operational all the time (guess that it was linked to the fact that the hotel just opened). Careful with your personal belongings and put it in the safe... we had a bad experience with a $100 note stolen in our room.... As well they're quite aggressive with their Time sharing program. Avoid that if you can. Not all the restaurants are equal. The one in the Adult (La Perla) seem to be better. The beach is not very wide and not the best part.
“Not a five start resort.”
Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The food was average, which is not bad for an "all-inclusive. Some attention to detail was missing (no manual for the room) and for a brand new hotel, there were some wear and tear already. The decorations were amazing if you like eclectic modern. Service was good. The beach was a disappointment--narrow beach and somewhat rough.
“Would recomend for family or adults only ....”
Let me start with our overall trip was excellent!! Best food of any all-inclusive a little slow on the drink order with dinner, but then just bring one with you!! Communication of daily activities need to be bettter distributed and the beach was disappointing. The shows were very entertaining!! We had a very enjoyable trip!
“Nice Paradisus Hotel”
Nice hotel , good service , good food, family shows everynight. No ocean view in any of the hotel rooms. Not a very big hotel so therefore is not too crowded.Very strict in pool schedule only until 7 pm, dissapointing when your children want to swim a little longer.
“Was it worth it??? No.”
For what the hotel charges, was it worth it? Definitely not. Maybe half of what we paid. We stayed at the La Perla which is adult only - how would one know that adult only - to the resort means 20-34 years old with the desire to party your face off. I think the resort lost view of who they were marketing to when they decided to open the doors to everyone and their dog, just to put heads in beds. Nothing like watching a bunch of young adults at the swim-up bar pee in the pool (hello, there is a "very clean" bathroom right behind the swim-up bar!), and party their faces off until they’re falling down drunk and puking in the flower beds. When I book an all inclusive resort I look for the "relaxing" factor and this was what I was told we would get from La Perla. For the first three days, the resort was nice and quiet and enjoyable, regardless that we had to ask the front desk to restock the bar fridge "every day", remind the cleaners to clean our room everyday - although they only ever did it during siesta time. Day four hit and wow the resort changed. Ask me if I'll go back? Never. By the way, watch your iPads and your wallets. The servers at the dinner restaurants like to acquire your items when you turn away during a conversation. Talk about sneaky. However, is the resort itself beautiful? Yes. Are there any activities? No, not really.
