The Ocean Royale All Inclusive Resort has meeting space and breakout areas equipped to accommodate up to 400 people for meetings, conferences, and conventions. On-site shops sell jewelry, gifts, beachwear, and souvenirs; professional staff can help plan intimate weddings and large receptions. A fitness facility provides cardio machines, step machines, free weights, and treadmills.
Services available for a surcharge include a health spa, dive center, shops, laundry services, motorized watersports, and shuttle transportation to Playa del Carmen (service is complimentary at noon and 1 PM; reservations are required).

The 320 air-conditioned guestrooms at the Playa del Carmen resort feature either partial ocean, pool or garden views. Superior rooms feature Caribbean-style decor with minibars, bottled water, LCD TVs with cable service, pay movies, and direct-dial phones. In-room safes can be used for a surcharge. The Maya Deluxe rooms (renovated in 2011) have modern decor and upgraded amenities, including MP3 docking stations. Complimentary weekday newspaper is offered and turndown service can be requested.

The resort offers a range of sports, beach and entertainment activities, including snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, catamarans, and beach volleyball. The dive shop offers an introductory scuba lesson in the beachfront swimming pool and can set up snorkeling and scuba diving instruction, rental equipment, and trips (surcharges for all). Two lighted tennis courts, archery, pool and ping-pong tables, and an outdoor workout area are on site.
Hotel staff can help golf enthusiasts with tee times at the 18-hole course at Playacar Golf Club, 10 km (6 mi) away.

“Initial impression was mediogre, but within hours realized it was a lovely, Mexican hotel. l”
If you are looking for a fancy, American hotel you may be dissappointed. The grounds were absolutely beautiful, the rooms were spacious and nicely decorated in Mexican decor. The restaurants were good, meals were repeditive after one week, so you do get tired of the choices. The service was 5 star.The beach, pool area were beautiful. I would go there again.

Family oriented with lots of activities to keep kids busy while adults enjoy the marvelous pool and breathtaking views of the ocean only meters away. Staff courteus and friendly.Drinks cold and plentiful and great variety of food offerings. Only suggestion: extend guest parking lot. Had to park my rental in the staff parking lot because there was no room. Did not enjoy that long walk in 94degree weather...

“Excellent Stay!!!”
The stay was amazing from beginning to end! The hotel is gorgeous! the grounds are stunning, pool always clean, staff extremely friendly and dedicated to satisfying you! Ocean boardwalk is a lovely feature, stunning beach only a few minutes walk away. We always found seating on the beach and around the pool and we never had to get up early to reserve seats. The food was incredible! The buffet food was always hot and fresh and there were several customizable stations such as the pasta station where they made whatever you'd like fresh. Only warning is that if you ask for a double in your drink they truly put a double in there, in other words the drinks are strong! I would recommend this resort 100% and can't wait to return!!

For the price, we expected much less and to be pressured to "up-grade" . We were never asked to upgrade and we had a wonderful room, food, experience and great value!!! We woul;d go back in a heart-beat.

This was our first vacation in a long, long time. WE LOVED IT!! The staff was super nice, the resort is beautiful, and the food is delicious!! This place is an A+. If you leave $1 tips here and there for the staff you will be treated like royalty!! Every staff member put in 150% and our stay was great!!!

I like the room and the colorful decoration. I like the flowers and the plants outside of the rooms. It is also peaceful. I love the shows in the evening right across from the buffet. There's a different show each night during my stay. i would visit this place again.
“Negative reviews are ridiculous- GREAT place!”
We stayed here from Aug. 23 to Sept. 1. The reviews on Expedia made us nervous. However, the place was amazing. We went when there weren't a lot of people there. The pool bar we had to ourselves for a good 7 of 8 days. The staff was AMAZING! Say hi to Enrique (who looks like Wolverine) while you're there. The food was actually pretty good. The breakfast buffet had tons to choose from. The Italian place was the worst one. The food tasted like it was frozen from a box. If you go to the Italian place ask for the Sacraficial Maya shot. It's a whole production. The Japanese place was the best. Our chef, Henry, was great. He put on a good show. The landscaping is 10/10. Nothing else to say about it. Rooms were very clean. I have a mild case of OCD. The maid understood how I wanted the room cleaned and did everything we asked. The only complaint I have was that the only places with air conditioning were your suite and the Japanese place. If this place had a few more places to cool off, this hotel would be perfect. The beach access is 50 feet from the pool. These people complaining about no access are lazy. We will definitely go back next year. This is central to Playa Del Carmen and most excursions. A+ rating!
“great place!”
We stayed at this hotel and at a 4-star hotel in Cancun, and we liked this one so much better! The grounds are well-maintained, the food was great, and we loved the palapas and hammocks. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. The only two drawbacks were that the pool closed at 8pm (which seems to be the norm), and the ocean had a bit of rocks and seaweed where we were. But there is a free shuttle into Playa del Carmen, and the beach there is amazing. I would strongly suggest this hotel or anywhere along the Riviera Maya for those of you who want to get away from the touristy bustle of Cancun.
