“Family getaway”

Our family enjoyed the hotel greatly. There's a great family atmosphere and a lot to do for the family. The food is excellent.

“We are planning a return trip already.”

They have recovered beautifully from the hurricane 2 years ago. The service from everyone was fantastic. We felt like we were the most important people there, including the kids. A definite must see.

“Great place to stay if you want peace and quiet!”

My husband and I were very satisfied with this hotel. The place is beautiful and secluded from the common tourist places. The park Xcaret is connected to the hotel and it's about a 5 minute walk. You still have to pay admission to get it but it's convenient since you could go back to the hotel to eat if you'd prefer. The food at the buffet was delicious but not too impressed with the food at seafood restaurant that we had to make a reservation for. The Italian restaurant was delicious! The room was very nice and clean, it has a safe in the closet and they stock the mini fridge with water, soda and beer every couple of days. The bed is not comfortable but we're not picky so it didn't really matter. The linen had a funky smell to it so we requested they change the covers on the bed. Overall, very clean hotel, friendly staff, big hotel with lots of pools and swim up bar! Beach is more of a lagoon, so if you are looking for a BEACH this not the place to stay. You are away from the party scene so if you want that also, then don't stay here, it's better that you stay at Playa Del Carmen. We wanted peace and quiet and not too be surrounded by a bunch of drunk party people so it was the perfect place for us!

“Believe me....”

As our first international vacation, we had a tremendously awesome experience. All the reviews you read about this site are true - from the "adult pool" (secluded from everything)to the extra firm mattress. While we had no problems getting a dinner reservation, which the longer you stay the more reservations you are allowed, you do need to make them almost immediately upon arrival to get the time frame you desire. I highly recommend La Hacienda. The ecological park (next to the resort) is fascinsating. The 2 hr show is incredible as is the underground river. They bring all of your belongings to the END of the river where you return any rented equipment (there is no long hile back to the begining unless you exit the river prior to the end). I would however not recomend going through the 2 hr sales spitch for the "Occidental resort time share". Enough said.

“I've told all my friends to go!!!”

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the hotel. We felt as though our every whim was cared for. We spent a day in the XCARET park and really enjoyed it as well. It was nice to be able to come and go between the park and resort. We were able to come back to our rooms, shower, have dinner and go back for the night show at the park! We thought the hotels' restaurants were very good, night entertainment also a thumbs up. Walking around the resort was a breathtaking experience. I highly recommend this place.

“Great time”

This resort is great. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The pools are beautiful. The food was good too. The only complaint I have is that the beds in the rooms were rock hard. Like sleeping on concrete. If they would change the mattress, it would be a '10'.

“Great Vacation!”

This is great hotel! Wonderful grounds, but a lot of walking which we didn't really mind. The food is amazing. Pools wonderful. The beach leaves a bit to be desired, quite packed.....having been to several other amazing Caribbean beaches we were perhaps a bit spoiled in that regard. That being said, we really didn't miss the experience on this trip; there was enough to keep us happy. It was quite nice that the Xcaret Park was right next door....it was nice...a must see! At the hotel, If you get talked into taking the Vacation Club tour....be ready to spend several hours listening to the sales pitch...but it was worth it get the admission to the park at a very discounted rate. Annoying, but a money saver! It was a great trip, however if you plan excursions and your company is tough to track down or always "out of the office"...just use another one in the room...the prices are all very similar. Again, this was a beautiful property and totally doesn't seem like a mega resort, which was lovely.

“Great family place”

This hotel is beautifully designed. It is so large that it didn't seem crowded even though it was spring break. It is a great place to stay especially if you want to visit the park at Xcaret. You can walk to the park and come back to the hotel for lunch and then return to the park in the afternoon or at night for the night performance.

“Second trip here and planning our third!”

This was our family's second visit to this resort and we loved it this time as much as the first. It is a beautiful resort with the most courteous staff. Our every need was met here. It is very family oriented. We are planning a third visit with friends within the next five weeks. Love this resort!
