“Second Time Around”
Our trip in early December was the second time we have visited the Grand Occidental Xcaret at this time of year. We were a group of six adult relatives this year and ten last and find that the all inclusive atmosphere is ideal for group travel. We love the meandering paths and small buildings for bedrooms. Beautiful pools and beach area lagoon, plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.
“Absolutly Stunning”
I have traveled to many places and stayed at many hotels. This is one of the best hotels that you will find anywhere. I would highly recomment this hotel to anyone. You will be pampered and well taken care of. The grounds, the staff and the food are magnificent. You will enjoy this hotel.
“Will for sure be going back next year or sooner.”
The resort was very nice. It had everything to do right there without travelling anywhere else. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Lots of daily and nighttime entertainment and activities.
“A Fabulous Experience”
We had a excellent time! The grounds at this hotel were beautiful! Perfect for families! The cleanliness was superb! The best part, however, was the entertainment. The nightly shows were great, and all the activities were terrific. There was never a second of boredom here! The pools were great, and our kids had a great time exploring. There were some great photo opportunities, from the forest to the ruins to the beach to the animals. The architecture and design of the hotel was impressive. All of the staff was great. I would not recommend this hotel for those with trouble walking, as everything was spaced out a lot. The food was pretty good, nothing special, but was very kid friendly. The beach, while small, was beautiful. The bars were fabulous and convenient. We had an incredible time and highly recommend this hotel!
“Fabulous service, definitely going back!”
The hotel staff was very attentive and accomidating. The facility was very clean and very well kept. There was so much to see and do that you wouldn't really need to leave the resort. We loved the Xcaret park, which was just a short walk to the entrance. We didn't find anything that we didn't like. This was a last minute decision to stay here and we were so glad that we did!
“2010 Paradise”
This hotel is Fabulous! It seems overwhelming at first but just take an hour to walk around & follow the signs & you will get to know the place. Do not fall for the note that there is a gift for you at th reception area, there they will try to talk you into an appoinment to sell you a time share. That is a waste of time. Make sure you make your reservations that day you check in for the week. However, the buffet was wonderful. Breakfast, lunch & dinner had exceptional food. So much to choose from but you have to love differnet and tasty food. If you like plain, basic no tasting food, this is not the place for you. They do have the basics though all the time, burgers, hot dogs & chicken fingers for those afraid to try something different. They only have corona & modelo beer no light beer at all & the drinks are watered down & they use bottom shelf stuff. The surroundings are magnificent! The shows are excellent! the staff was over the top friendly, just treat them with respect & tip the maids they will leave you xtra towels. Make sure you take a trip to Xcaret. Don't need the 2 day pass, one day is more than enough. the beach there is Fabulous , make sure you go prepared.
“lying by the pool!!!”
My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Occidental... we lay by the pool, we napped, we walked in the grounds, we sat by the sea, we visited Xcaret park, we did nothing. It was great!!!!! the hotel was very nice, and very well laid out. nothing was more than a few minutes walk away. The staff were all very helpful and attentive. We wanted for nothing. The food was great. Great selection and tastes great. We ate breakfast overlooking the sea every day -it was fabulous. The Buffet was also good - we ate lunch there many times. As for the A Le carte selection - we tried a few of them, but our favourite was definately the mexican restaraunt (La Hacienda). If you getthe chance - I say go!!!
“Great for families, We will go back!”
We loved this hotel! Our 6 year old had a great time at the kids club and the mini disco each night. The pools were well maintained and not too crowded. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and were very friendly. We were pleased with the food and had no trouble making reservations for the specialty restaurants. Even the waitstaff at the buffet went out of their way to accomodate us. We will definitely return!
“Ready to go back”
This was our second visit to this hotel, and we can't wait to go back. The grounds are so beautiful and well kept. The rooms are wonderful, but spread out if you have difficulty walking.
“Great place”
Just returned from this hotel and had a great time. Being all-inclusive, I was concerned about the food quality, but there was no need - it was great. You can stroll into the adjecent Xcaret park in less than 5 minutes.
