“Super fantastic”
This has been our best vacation ever, the whole experience was wonderful. This was our first trip to riviera maya and we can do it again every year. The people, the food ,the beach en general the entire hotel was amazing. We went to celebrate our 5th aniversary and we took our baby girl, she is only 18 month old and she had so much fun. This trip was the best of the best.
“Great place for vacation”
Well kept and maintained. Standalone buildings make it very cozy, give a feeling of family setup. Huge pools, nice beach. Good food. Brazilian, Mediterraiian, Italian and Japanese restaurants are excellent. Good entertainment.
“Tremendous Value”
The hotel complex is absolutely stunning and the service is A+. The grounds and beach area are gorgeous and well maintained. The only area that lagged a bit was the food, but for money, we found the overall experience to be a great value.
“Can't wait to go back!”
Everything was excellent in regards to the hotel, staff, room, restaurants, food and all-inclusive. Awesome beach! Excellent customer service, and very friendly staff! We had a great vacation! I would recommend this hotel to anyone and we will be going back.
“Hated to leave to and come home to cold weather!”
Our room was in the middle of the resort. It was a lot of walking to the beach and restaurants, but we enjoyed the walking. The entertainment was always really good. The "Star Friends" did a awesome job interacting with all the people staying at the resort, and the shows at night. Food was really good (preparing for that amount of people), and the service we had was excellent. Everywhere you looked someone was always cleaning something. The grounds are jungle like, and are very well kept . I never heard a power tool being used . I would recommend that you arrange your transfers to and from the airport , because you will be overwhelmed with the people trying to give you a ride @ the airport.
“Iberostar Riveria Maya has a customer for life!”
I have been back to the Iberostar resort in Riveria Maya 10 times!! That tells you something...the place is awesome! All the people are very friendly, from the bell boy to the gardener trimming the trees...everyone goes out of their way to say hello! I have stayed at all the resorts on the Iberostar complex at Riveria Maya location. There is something for everyone in each of those resorts...The Del Mar surprised me as I have stayed at the Grand which is a nice place with all the elaborate extras...but I have to say the Del Mar suited my needs...I am a health and fitness fanatic, so I was able to eat healthy as they offer many grilled fish and chicken dishes, and the I was surprised by the gym, I could really get a good workout! The rooms were always cleaned thoroughly and although the beds have harder mattresses...I did sleep like a baby. Because I am a return customer, the resort offered me a reduced rate upgrade on oceanfront room...if you get a chance stay in building 10! It is worth it to hear and see the ocean from your outdoor porch area! I will definitely be going back there 10 more times...they have a customer for life at Iberostar!
“A great experience...”
This was not the first Iberostar property we have stayed at and our family of four unanimously agreed that we would go back to Iberostar Paraiso del Mar! Overall the service and people were wonderful and made our vacation one to remember. There was a nice separation from the louder activities if you did not want to be in the thick of things, but plenty of room if you did. Activities were well planned and kid friendly. Children of all ages were kept happy and busy throughout our one week stay. Even though it rained our last two days, we were sad to see it end!
“We would go back in a minute for the same price.”
This is a wonderful resort. We stayed there the first week of Dec 2010. The grounds are beautiful and the pools and beach are great. The waitstaff are friendly and efficient. There must be an army of people working around the clock to keep the grounds, pools, beach, sidewalks and buildings so clean. The evening shows were top notch, some even better than we have seen on cruises. The food is above average for an all inclusive with lots of selections at the buffet so there is always something for everyone. Enjoyed the wildlife at the resort. Beautifull swans in some of the pools along with flamingos, parrots and other birds. They have signs all over staing do not feed the wildlife. Well you know how that goes, the Cotimundi were well fed and would come right up to your table begging. There were no mosquios or other annoying critters which was certainly a plus. I had read that some resorts along the Riviera Maya have mosquito problems. And best of all there were no timeshare intreuders. Overall this is an excellent resort and I highly recommend it.
“Really nice resort, great value for the price.”
This was my second stay at the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar in Playa Del Carmen. The expansive pool is among the best I have seen in years of traveling, with Roman pillars, several swim up bars, lazy river, big waterfall. . The staff tries hard, and successfully, to get all ages of people involved in various fun pool activities. The gounds are very tropical with winding paths through the jungle, very nice. While the food is nothing to write home about, it is plentiful and adequate. (Personally, I don't go to Mexico for the cuisine, anyway). Dive shop was very professional. Housekeepers placed rose petals around the room, and put chocolates and creatively shaped bath towels on the bed each day. Lots of iguanas and cool Coatamundi anteater-like creatures running around the beach and grounds (very cute). In late July, it appeared that families with children of all ages (young to college age) were the primary guests. This hotel provides a very good value.
“Beautiful resort, food o.k.”
The del mar is a beautiful resort. The service is great, and the grounds are immaculate. We chose the paraiso del mar because it is located closer to the airport, so once you land in cancun, you are not riding for an hour in a van. The only thing that wasn't the best was the food. It was o.k. nothing great. We have been to other resorts in riviera maya, and dont remember the food being like it was at the del mar. It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't anything outstanding. But even with "soso food" we would go back to the del mar again. It is a beautiful resort, with great staff, and a nice beach.
