Only good thing is close to beach and La QuintaPosted 22-Jun-2014
Room felt old no phone no elevator and I hate the fact that the control to the TV was attached to the cabinet water pressure was bad in the shower. The only good thing was that it was close to shops but everything is over priced.

Worst Hotel in Playa del Carmen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Posted 20-May-2014
Cons: Restore the whole hotel and change all the staff.
Location: The location is good, there's a lot of restaurants and shops near.
This is the worst hotel in Playa del Carmen, when we arrive they didn't gave us the room that we booked they gave us another one and it was smelly, old, and dirty, and we have a late arrival guarantee, and the front desk staff was rude and they didn't resolve our problem, they offer us a suite that was the same as awful as the other one with an extra charge. the next day they give us the room that we originally book and it was horrible, and old, is not like the pictures on expedia. you don't have phone, hair dryer, and iron or iron board in the room, they have one for all the hotel and you have to go to the reception area to ask for it. Awful experience don't book this hotel, there's a lot more hotels better then this one in Playa del Carmen and with better rate.

El Tukan - Don't Stay HerePosted 16-May-2014
Hotel was not clean. Front desk staff not friendly. Paid for all inclusive which meant you were NOT able to eat at the hotel restaurant you had to cross the street to eat or get drinks. They gave you access to a beach club which you have a small corner of the club said it was all inclusive but did NOT include food! You had tp be shuttled to the beach in order to even get yo the KOOL beach club. they gavd you access to thr pool at the beach but could only use the chairs by the pool if you paid $10. Also purchased all inclusive excursions not true only Xel-Ha was all inclusive Xcaret we were there till 9:00pm and were only given one meal not sure they know what all inclusive means! Shuttle bus dropped us off 10 blocks away from our hotel said it was 3 blocks after a long hot day with kids walking was not how I wanted to end my day. Do NOT stay at this HOTEL! EVER

Location is greatPosted 15-May-2014
We stayed here for a night while in Playa. It is directly on fifth avenue and is super fun for that reason. If you like to venture out at night and dont plan on spending a ton of time in the room its great. Not super quiet and the pool is decent. Hot tub was as cold as the pool. We are in our mid twenties and had a lot of fun here though.

Great central locationPosted 24-Apr-2014
Pros: This hotel had nice facilities including a pool and a beach club. they had the main hotel on one side of 5th avenue and rooms on the beach side too.
Location: its in the heart of playa del carmen so beach and party really - i'd definitely recommend a day at Xel-Ha though. Soo much fun!
We only stayed one night as we were passing through on our way somewhere else. the room was comfortable with fully functioning facilities. the only downside was that it was across the street from a bar which played really loud music until 2am. it didn't bother us because we were so worn out we collapsed into bed but if you are a light sleeper this is probably not for you.

Not fancy but Great locationPosted 15-Apr-2014
Stayed for 2 nights in Playa for our honeymoon and it was great location for night life and beach. Not the best food and an older room for sure but great staff who upgraded us to a king bed and a clean hotel. The all inclusive is not what you would expect for drinks. Over all nice pool area would stay again!

Lovely place to stayPosted 4-Apr-2014
Pros: Lots of closet space, great AC, quiet location, free purified water in lobby.
Cons: Some of the lights didn't work in my room, and it would be great if there was a fridge.
I had a very pleasant stay - my room was quiet, clean and the AC worked great. The staff was helpful and friendly. I didn't go for the all-inclusive option, and thought this is very good value for the money for a no-frills stay!

Read all reviews before booking this hotel!Posted 23-Feb-2014
Read reviews before we left not before we booked.. Big mistake. 1. No hotel shuttle 2. No ice, bucket or water bottle 3.Smaller than a dorm room 4. Room smells of sewage and mold 5.Paid for all inclusive - didn't get that. They have you pay for the premium package when you get there.. So basically you eat off the worst Buffett ever.. Drinks need to be like a piña coloda.. Only beer in a cup. (Included) we paid 57 per person a night for this .. Get there premium package is an extra 38 per night per person. Only diff is 1 more restaurant. We just ate other places. 6.Beach club is a 10 min walk not bad.. They do offer a shuttle we never took it. The beach club is free (cheap) drinks sitting area is jammed packed. We choose to set and pay on the beach .. Rented wood loungers for 10 a person. beach club has great food and drinks.. Service is great too! We spent and extra 200 at beach club . Beach club would go back to I staying at a condo or rental apartment. Well worth it. We like to be waited on.. Also great beach no rocks .. A plus in my book! 7.Wifi free.. Worked great! 8.Best spot located on 5th which is the only reason to stay here. 9. Bedding and bed gross. I packed a down comforter pillows and clean sheets for our stay .. I read review day before we booked. But spent 100 getting it there and back. 10.Hotel curb appeal really appealing .. Very tropical. This was our 4th time to playa. We have stayed at gran Porto, el taj and the royal. All luxury :)

Terrible hotel staffPosted 11-Jan-2014
Pros: the room was very confortable. and since this was an all inclusive reservation the food was also good.
Cons: the hotel staff definitly doesnot know how to treat people. If they dont want to work they then they shouldnot be working in a hotel.
Location: the hotel was near the beach and near the center of the city so if you want to walk around it was near everything, restaurant, etc.
when we just arrived to the hotel they tried to charge us extra because they claimed that we just paid for a room with only one bed and if we want two bed we have to paid extra. the discussion was over just when we found the copy of the reservation on our bag where it says that we already paid through expedia for a room with 2 beds. A couple of days later we reserved a trip and we agreed with the agency to come by the hotel to bring us the vouchers. The agency person came 3 times asking for us, we were at our room but the front desk person all the time reject the agency person telling that we were not at the hotel! After the agency person left and since we have this excursion to do the next day we decided to go to the agency, when we were leaving the room we found out that the hotel staff left us a note telling us that someone came to see us. but they didnot bother to knock our room to tell us so. This was definitely my worst experience at a hotel.
