“We would go back in a heart beat!”

Loved it! The staff and setting were ideal for this 75 year old active couple; close enough to the action when we wanted and yet quiet for nap time. Second floor room with balcony looked out over small pool. One blk off 5th. Staff very helpful with hints on things to do and places to eat. Playa is the place to be!

“Would Definitely Stay Here Again”

This Hotel is great - Its really close to everything - the beach, shopping, restaurants - but still far enough away that it doesn't get noisy. We had a beautiful room with a balcony looking over the pool. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are very glad we didn't stay in an all-inclusive resort which are really separate in PlayaCar outside the town of Playa. We never had to wait to use the computer. The best breakfast we had while in Playa was at the Hotel - really nice staff also. The one bad thing was that the bathroom didn't have a window so if you left the door closed during the day a smell built up - so leave the door open when you leave for the day. In spite of this I would recommend this Hotel to anyone, also we did not think the bed was hard at all (I know this was in some of the previous reviews). Very good value for money.

“Awesome stay here”

This hotel was wonderful. It was towards the end of the 5th avenue, so it was an easy walk to the main street and the beach. It was also quite comfortable, and our hotel room opened directly to the pool area. The only suggestion I have would be for the cleaning staff to change our sheets every once in a while...we stayed there for about two weeks, and it wasn't changed once, though the towels could be changed whenever we wanted. Overall this was a very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff, and I would definitely recommend it to others!

“Great Hotel in Playa del Carmen”

The Hotel Riviera Caribe Maya is a wonderful place to stay in Playa del Carmen. It is just a couple blocks away from the beaches and nice shops and restaraunts. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful and just as comfortable in English as Spanish. The bed was more firm than I prefer, and that is the only thing that could have been better. This is a great value! I only hope to stay longer next time I am in Playa.

“Loved Riviera Caribe Maya!”

We thought this was a fantastic place to stay in Playa del Carmen, especially if you're looking for a more authentic Mexican experience and don't want to stay at one of the many huge, American style resorts. The staff were extremely friendly and always helpful (most spoke English if your Spanish isn't up to par!). The rooms were clean and comfortable and it was fairly quiet at night. Also the distance to "Fifth Avenue" was great, we enjoyed being able to walk there and back in no time. We highly recommend this hotel!

“great, affordable spot in Playa”

I was uncertain about staying at this hotel given the review about the uncomfortable beds. However, while the beds are indeed a bit hard, they are completely fine. And, the room was great, the pool a nice respite, and the free internet a great option. Service was a bit lacking as I didn't know there was breakfast included, nor that there were pool and beach towels available.

“Great Place!!!”

We just came back from a 10 day trip to Playa del Carmen. The hotel's location is excellent. The staff is very friendly and they have good suggestions to places away from Playa's 5th avenue. The room was always nicely done and management keeps the place nice and clean. We would go back in a heart beat. By the way, they have free internet and free Wi-fi. Big plus.

“A wonderful experience”

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights, and were extremely happy with our stay. The hotel was great! The staff was always helpful and very friendly. We liked that the hotel was just off of La Quinta, it was very quiet at night. Overall, we can't complain about anything.

“Excellent Customer Service”

I recently stayed at the Hotel Riviera Caribe Maya and I have to say that the customer service was excellent. Unfortunately, on my 2nd night there, the shower ran out of hot water and so they had to move the guests to different rooms. I was upgraded to a suite which was fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful in moving our luggage and they were extremely apologetic. I was in a rush that morning to go scuba diving and so one of the staff members actually gace me a ride in their car instead of making me take a taxi. All of the staff was extremely friendly, especially Carlos and Lucay (don't know if the spelling is correct). I plan on returning to Playa Del Carmen soon. It is a beautiful place. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.
