“tres sympatique”

L'accueil est tres agreable et toute l'equipe souriante. Les chambres sont dotees d'un petit patio individuel avec hamac, ce qui rend le sejour tres agreable. Par contre, oubliez la piscine, peu entretenue, et preferez-y la mer des caraibes, toute proche.

“Nice place, not exactly what we expected”

Playa del Karma is an appealing place, but our expectations were a little too high. It's more rustic than it looks from the pictures on the website. The staff was friendly but weirdly uninformed about anything off the beaten path, at least as far as they were willing to disclose. We also had a very unfortunate incident when trying to check out - at some obscenely early hour of the morning, literally on our way out the door with the airport shuttle waiting for us, the man at the front desk suddenly decided that we hadn't paid, and made us wait for a long time while he was on hold, and wouldn't give us any information. It was a really unpleasant end to an otherwise lovely trip. The rooms are clean and have air conditioning and a TV, and the showers are really nice. Our bed was hard as a rock, but the balcony was delightful. The beach is nicest if you walk over to 22 and then down to the water.

“charming hotel--except for the bed.”

This is such a charming place --thatched roof! wonderful decorating! cool pool! and would be a total find if it weren't for the bed, which was like sleeping on a brick.

“Too noisy and beds not comfortable”

Although this hotel had some charm (nice garden, hammocks outside your room) I was not happy with my bed as it was much too firm to sleep comfortably. Furthermore, something was amiss with the plumbing system in the hotel which created a stench that only worsened as the temperature rose outside. There was also a church right across the street which rang loud bells at strange hours in the morning (i.e. 6-8 a.m.) that woke me up several times. Noise was a seriously issue at this hotel.
