Hypo-allergenic bedding, irons/ironing boards, and wake-up calls can be requested. Housekeeping is provided. All guestrooms are non-smoking.

“Beatiful Hotel, Great Location!”
Overall, our experience at Hotel El Punto was fantastic! The price was right, the rooms were modern and clean and it is only a block from the beach. Not being on the ocean is not an issue since the oceanfront resorts let you use their beach umbrellas and chairs for a small fee, as long as you order some food/drinks which are brought directly to your lounge chair (I recommend Wicky's). The only issue, as others have mentioned, is the noise. At night, the halls echo with the sound of people coming up and down from the rooftop bar. Our room was facing the stairs, so it would probably be worth asking to have a room in another location. In the end, this wasn't much of an issue for us since we were exhausted by the end of each day and never had much trouble falling asleep despite the noise. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return!
“Great Hotel”
Great little hotel, very clean and the staff was very helpful. My only comment is if you are a light sleeper and don't hit the bar's it can be a little loud in the hall. Luckily, I read earlier reviews and took my noise machine to cover that up. We changed rooms later in the week so we could have a balcony and watch everyone walk down 5th Ave. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed that at the beach club a few short blocks away. We would stay there again for sure.

This is a great hotel, specially due to it location that makes very easy to live a real experience from the city not only the beach. If you are the sort of person like big hotels and all inclusive to do not worry about anything this wont be for you, but if you like have things to do in walking distance, experience city life, night life, good local restaurants and wines, good beach clubs and experience like been having a life in playa ,, Hotel el punto is superb!
“Clean, but a little noisy”
The hotel was clean, and affordable. However, there were various noise issues. The hotel is on a busy but most of the noise came within the hotel and I'm pretty sure it was mostly from the staff, but all in all the hotel was nice and the complimentary breakfast was very good.
“Stylish and comfy”
Nice small, convenient stylish place with very friendly staff. It's not super-swanky or luxurious, but still well-designed, comfortable and reasonably-priced. And the front desk staff was very friendly, and amazingly attractive as well (shouldn't affect service, but I couldn't help but notice).

Great location on av.5 , walking distance to every thing . spacious room , clean good hot water shower . bathroom was small. Excellent breakfast on the beach in a resort nearby . would stay here again
“Location was perfect!”
My boyfriend and I arrived early at the hotel since we cabbed it from Cancun which is only an hour drive from Playa del Carmen. The hotel watched our bags until the room was ready and gave us breakfast certificates to use. The beach club was very nice and served a great breakfast buffet or regular breakfast. We came back in the afternoon to check into our room which was wonderful. Very contemporary and comfortable. We would stay here again -- location was perfect, room was comfortable and staff was very nice. We would stay here again.
“Excellent Hotel / Wonderful Staff”
The El Punto is a fantastic hotel and you can't beat the customer service, everyone is incredibly friendly, from the owner, to the front desk staff to the wait staff. The rooftop bar and tapas were fantastic. I think we might have visited it every night. It is a perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy drinks and tapas or have a night cap after dinner out. The wait staff is best and friendliest in Playa, the decor is hip and comfortable, and the DJ is awesome. The hotel is a little loud at night but the bar closes at 1 am so it really didn't bother us. The rooms are stylish, clean and comfortable. We can't wait to go back. This hotel would be prefect for a small wedding or reunion.
