“A wonderful honeymoon!”
When we booked at Hacienda Real del Caribe by Encanto we were taking a risk since there were no reviews posted and were going basically off pictures and location. I had done a lot of research on hotels and could not believe it when I found such a nice hotel only two blocks away from the beach. It was amazing! The rooms were very nice and clean, bathrooms were spacious, we had a very nice balcony overlooking the street, and although we were only one block away from Quinta Avenida we did not hear any noise at night and were able to sleep soundly (the margaritas might have helped with that . . . .) The staff were all very nice and polite. Alvino was very helpful, we called him into our room three times on our first day to help us with the safe, toilet, and refrigerator, and he patiently assisted us with every need we had. Don't forget to tip busboys and housekeeping. They do a wonderful job. The restaurant in the hotel was very nice as well. We ate breakfast there twice. For a quick snack there was a pizza place across the street with thin crusts sold by the slice. Down Quinta Avenida towards the ferry there are stands of fresh tacos, tortas, corn on a stick, churros, and fresh sliced fruit in a cup. At times we spent only $5 for supper for two. The food on the street was amazing and the ultimate mexican experience. This was an experience we will never forget. We plan on returning to Playa and booking at Hacienda Real del Caribe by Encanto again.
“Will stay there again”
First time in Mexico & loved it. Hotel perfect location. Comfortable. Good aircon. Pool small but fine. Five minute walk from beach. Only upset was we thought we had a shuttle provided by hotel from airport but nothing there when we arrived so had to get expensive taxi. Got bus back which is perfect for about £10. Staff lovely but English not very strong. Very good price for location. Highly recommend Playa del Carmen. Beach is pretty quiet & area very relaxed.
“Would definitely consider booking this hotel again.”
It was a quaint and clean hotel, and well maintained. The staff was very polite and helpful. And the Expedia price I thought very reasonable. It was also very central and close the shopping and amenities. (only 5 blocks from busy 5th St. shopping).
“Hacienda Real.. Paradise!”
The hotel is beautiful. There is an inner courtyard with a swimming pool in the center. Its like a tropical oasis. The hotel has beautiful plants and flowers on all the levels and around the pool. The only issue was low water pressure. And from what I understand it's something about the City water lines. The room was very nice. A/C worked great! There are also several English channels to watch. We didn't spend much time in the room other than to drink. We walked to Walmart and stocked up on bottled water, sodas, and snacks.
“Great Stay”
My husband and I stayed at Hacienda Real from May14-21. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is very clean and and in a wonderful location. It is a very short walk to the shops, restaurants and bars of Fifth Av and is a short two block walk to a perfect beach. Can't wait to go back and will definitely stay here again.
“Play up Playa”
After a long transit to Playa i was greeted the lovely staff at the Hacienda Real, and they never failed to meet my expectations during my stay, highly recommend this hotel! Close to 5th Avenida, nice pool, complimntary wi-fi all good.
“Pleased beyond expectations”
This place is wonderful. Check in friendly and efficient. Gladly helped out with taxi arrangements and other info. Standard room and bathroom were huge and clean. Pool is beautiful. Right in the heart of everything. 2 short blocks to beach and hotel provides the towels. Hotel restaurant food as good as other places we ate at. Only complaint would be room not cleaned until after 5p.m., which seems to be rather common from Playa up to Cancun. But for the great rate we got, no biggie. Bed was comfy. Our room did not front the busy street so was very quiet. Streetside rooms may be noisy until around 11p.m. when foot traffic slows considerably. We have already booked our next stay here.
“Great Hotel in Playa”
It was our first time in Playa del Carmen, and this place was perfect! Located 2 blocks from the beach on 10th and 10th only 5 blocks from the bus station. It was clean, orderly and wonderful. We will definitely stay there again!

very cute and quaint hotel, great location. at first got a room that really smelled but they immediately moved us.. great service, great hotel, great location! nice balcony in our room
“great location. close to the activity without the noise.”
It is a lovely hotel one block off the busy main street Calle 5. Very close to everything. There was a pool but I didn't use it. I went to the beach. Also close (a couple of blocks) I was in room 106 and immediately asked to change which after a day was taken care of. Do not stay in room 106. it is where all the housekeeping gather to load and unload. The room was very noisy and the air conditioner didn't work. The moved me to Rm 214 and it was night and day difference. I would 100% stay here again.
