“Awesome location, very friendly staff”
No beach view but you"re right in the center of the action; restaurants, shops and clubs, while still being a very quiet Hotel. Beachfront Hotels can be far away from everything. Great value for the price. Will return.

This is a great place to stay, close to everything on 5th Av., beach and ferry. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and very comfortable and quite. The food at the restaurant was some of the best we had on our 10 day stay. We would recomend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean affortable hotel. It is in a safe area and walking at night was no problem.

From start to end, a wonderful experience. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The room was basic but clean and very comfortable. Loved the mexican tile sink! Our room had a balcony and the sitting area on the 2nd floor was a nice place to relax. A basic free continental breakfast was attractively served at a nearby restaurant. We ate dinner at the attached restaurant and found the Italian food to be very good with homemade pasta. The hotel is a few block from the beach, an easy and nice 10 min walk. Note this hotel is about 12 blocks from the ADO bus station, a cab ride from bus station to hotel cost around $3. Cab from hotel to Xcaret was around $10. Overall, we would definitely stay here again.

Great location!!!! the only problem is that the kitchen is downstairs, so you can't sleep before 2am and the rooms are not pretty, but great value-price.

It's always difficult to pick a hotel to a place you have never gone too, at least it was for me. I choose Hacienda Mariposa from looking at the different reviews. I am glad i choose this hotel as i have nothing negative to say about it. unless u are an extremely and i do mean extremely picky person (High Maitenence)than this is not the place for u. price is very good. I am already looking into going back. looking at the reviews to this place most all are good. so please beleive this is a great place to stay.
“Great Value”
I was very pleasantly suprised at how nice the hotel was. The location was fantastic you could walk to everything but you were not so close that all of the noise from 5th ave would keep you awake all night. The beds were the typical hard beds but not too uncomfortable. The staff was very helpful and the service was great. The breakfast is only toast and coffee but again for the price of the room you can't go wrong here.
“We'd go back”
We stayed at Posada Mariposa. We were pleased. Room was big, super clean, nicely decorated, and had a safe, mini fridge, and TV. Check-in was easy. Hotel location is a good, right ON 5th Avenue. It was not noisy though. Hotel is at the north end of the strip, a 15 min walk to the bus station. And a 5 minute walk to the beach. We might consider staying at a hotel a little closer to the bus station next time though.
“Playa del Carmen's best Hotel”
If you are going to Playa del Carmen, Hacienda Mariposa is the best place to stay. Close to the beach, in the middle of the town, surrounded by restaurants, clubs and bars. We spent a very nice time there, the room was clean and pretty, the bed comfortable, the bathroom big. It was very cozy and we loved it.

My fiance and I stayed at Hacienda Mariposa for 5 nights and we had a wonderful time here. The place has a lot of character, most importantly it is clean and although the room we were in was a bit small and the light directly outside our window did annoy us a bit, overall the room was comfortable and there is even a fridge to keep our drinks cold!. The best part of this hotel is the staff, from the cleaning staff to the front desk and night security staff they were all so happy, ready to help and polite (special mention the Uraguayan young lady at the front desk and the other young lady from the Posada Mariposa, fantastic customer service!). The beach is a couple of mins walk away and the location is the best!, its right on 5th ave and the quieter side of the street which is good for a nice peaceful nights sleep after a long day (as the other end of 5th ave can be quite rowdy) Def, recommend this hotel and will stay again.
