“Great Trip! Jan 2010”
A group of 12 of us stayed at the White sands resort Jan 15-29. Fantastic Hotel!!! Food was excellent. We went to 7 out of 8 a la carte restaurants and LOVED everyone except the ribs and more. We didn't get a chance to go to the steak house just do to time. The resort is HUGE. Lots of walking. If you have elderly people or kids needing strollers, I would reccomend staying in the Colonial side. (Less stairs and easier access to the restaurants). The pool and beach area @ WS is WAY less busy compared to Colonial. Rooms were VERY tidy and clean and the bathrooms are amazing- Huge showers and tubs all tiles. I would either stay at WS or Colonial if to choose from all 4 because the Royal and Kantenai are far away from everything. Grounds were beautiful, staff very friendly, and over all, I would go back
“A VACATION MUST!!”
The hotel is rated 4stars and should be a 5+. It was fabulous. The resort has 5 or 6 hotels with a trolley that travels every ten minutes or so to them. The resort is huge and can sometimes mean alot of walking from your vila to the buffet but they have small bus stops near each villa that can take you to your lobby. The beach is beautiful but during our stay the water was very rough so one of the almost 15 pools may be a better choice for smaller children. The animation staff were fun, welcoming and they always had something going on. The food was to die for, not just the buffet's but the A La Cart resturants guaranteed oustanding service with food that would cost $100 a plate. There was no sign up but there was sometimes a wait of 45min or so. All in all this hotel was almost perfect the only down side which was a big one was the front staff. The front desk staff had poor english and some of them were down right rude. The most irritating thing was their rudeness, unlike the rest of the staff some of the front desk people truly didn't care about you at all. This was easily looked over when you see the perfectly manicured grounds, fabulous food and gorgeous hotel. It was better then any where else I have stayed in mexico.
“Great Place”
Huge facility with a little bit of everything for everyone.
“A Gem - Would Go Back in a Second!”
Upon arriving at the Grand Palladium by car we wound around some jungle-lined roads and easily found our check-in lobby. Check in was fast and simple. We were offered a golf cart ride to our room, but chose to walk the few steps ourselves. Our room (jr Suite) was very spacious for our family of four and felt magnificent. My son loved watching football on TV in the evenings while sitting in the jetted tub in the main area! The restaurants were fabulous! So many to choose from - be sure to make reservations for the popular ones - Japanese and Steakhouse. Beach was great - very treed and protected and the snorkelling was good. There were some rocks and coral near the shore so wading was difficult, but there was a designated swimming area which was sandy. The sports complex was great too - we played tennis and soccer and basketball - fun and equipment was in good condition. The spa was spectacular - comparable to 5 star spas in Canada and the US. Plan to spend some quiet time there. This place was huge! There was a little walking to get to your destination, but there was so much to see and so many bars and restaurants and shops to visit, it was a pleasure to make the treks. Besides, there was so much eating and drinking that it was nice to walk around a little bit. There were some mosquitoes, but nothing that impacted our enjoyment. Go to this resort - it is 4 in one, but it just feels like one big beautiful paradise!
“dommage”
Un seul reget, l'humidité de la chambre, surement dur à un problème de climatisation, sinon ce complexe hotelier est superbe c'est à ne pas manquer
“Beautiful Resort”
We went to this resort to attend a family wedding not knowing too much about it. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed with the resort. The staff was extremely friendly especially to our 1 year old daughter. The rooms were nice and the grounds were beautiful. We stayed in a standard room and found it roomy and nice. The pool was huge and the beach was great. There are many restaurants to choose from although with a baby we mainly ate at the buffet which was huge and very good. It is a large resort so it involves a lot of walking and there are many bridges and stairs. We brought a stroller and rarely used it due to this. The spa was big and very impressive, however some of the areas were not up and running. We have traveled to several nice resorts over the past few years and found this to be very nice.
“What a fabulous resort”
This resort was outstanding; Great service, great food (and I'm a foody who usually is unimpressed with vacation food). I did not want to leave when the time arrived. I would highly recommend this resort to friends and others. The room was tremendous & always clean. The facilities - pools, beaches, bars, etc where always clean and efficiently staffed. I do not believe in returning to a place when you haven't traveled to others -- I'm changing my opinion & will return to this resort -- it was FABULOUS.
“Great Choice will not disapoint”
This was a great choice out of the four hotels at this resort complex. It is pretty central to everything. It was impecably clean and the beds were actually comfortable! It is a massive resort complex which there is alot of walking everywhere but considering how much you eat here it's not such a bad idea :)Plus there are trains and golf carts that are always there to pick you up and take you where you want. Employees are really great! There is marble everywhere I actually slipped and I had flat rubber sandals! So ladies be very careful. Food is abundant something for everyone even the pickiest. Ala cart restaurants are ok worth the try if there isn't a long wait. They give pagers so you can go to the bar. The bar at the lobbies are the best try the Mojitos that the best drink that I had there. Beach is a bit rocky definately need water shoes (trust me). Third floor for view but 1st floor is easier to access since no elevators and after walking all that you still have to walk to third floor?! But I knew this already therefore don't regret it. When I first arrived they almost tricked me into staying at the Riviera section which is far so be alert and study the map. Take your own snorkel gear. You will have a blast. Enjoy! Very beautiful and enormuos but not crowded. Oh lots of mosquito bites!! But I knew this too. Have fun!!!
“Excellent hotel”
Seven days was not a long enough stay, we needed another week to eat the sensational food at "all" of the resorts restaurant facilities.
“We will be returning in 2010”
Our family has vacationed at many great locations including several cruises, both all inclusive/standard resorts and many trips to Florida including Disney. We would count our experience at Palladium White Sands amongst the very best of vacations we have talen to date. Some of the highlights included a fantastic comprehensive spa (even if you are not having a treatment), some great sports facilities including many water sport choices, and a very wide array of top quality restaurants and buffets with an excellent level of food quality and service. I would also like to comment that my son (10) loved the kids club and was part of some great shows the last three nights of our stay. The junior suites are spacious, very clean and have walk in two person showers and two person whirlpools. The laundry service is prompt and reasonable if required. Recommendations: Take a direct taxi from the airport (shuttle takes too many stops on the way since you are very far South from the airport), find your own way to Talum and hire a guide with a group (excursion expensive), and fly non-stop, its worth the extra $ from our experience. We would recommend to our family and friends! cheers! Mike
