“Fits us perfectly”
We just enjoyed our third stay and plan to go each year. The location is ideal, the resort is just the right size, and the staff is great.
“Great place for the money”
We stayed at coco bay may 16 thru 19/09. The place was almost deserted because of the flu scare. However, the place is really nice. The food was great and the room was clean and close to the beach and the pool. Service was a little slow because they had to cut back on their payroll due to the low occupancy. I really liked the intimate feeling of the place. It is much more relaxing than the larger resorts. Also, the place is really close to town, so it is a great location. The boats do park out in the water behind the hotel, but you can still swim and it really did not distract from the place that much. We will definately be going back
“Perfect Stay”
The Grand Coco Bay was about as good of a Hotel as you could ask for. The room, the lobby, entertainment areas, pool and beach were all beautful. The food was unbelievable. I has reservations about an all inclusive resort because your options may be limited on what and when you eat. But that was the exact opposite at the Grand Coco Bay. First, there was food almost 24-7, between there two restaurants, buffet dining area, and snack bar. And the pool bar was incredible. You have to try the Mango Margarita. I am a beer and shot type of guy, but these were awesome. There beer selection is Corona, Corona, and more Corona. A must see sunset. We can't wait to go back.
“Great vacation! Great Value!”
We had a nearly perfect vacation at the Grand Coco Bay Resort! The food was wonderful, especially the mexican restaurant. Loved the guacamole on the snack bar(so good, I made that my lunch everyday with chips). The boats were not a problem to me. Actually added a neat view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Few plumbing problems but were fixed rather timely. We'll go back again! No need to leave the resort if you really don't want to. We enjoyed Xcaret! Lovely cultural show at night.
“extremely impressed”
The staff is extremely wonderful. Our stay at Grand Coco Bay was very pleasant and phenomenal.
“Awesome”
The hotels location and small size made it ideal for us. The food was good (the Specialty Italian was GREAT and the Mexican meal with the Show on Monday was fab. as well). The hotel staff was awesome, always cheerful and genuinely concerned we were having a good time. They even helped us plan a trip to Tulum using public transportation (collectivos) for basically free, making our trip immensely better than it could have been. For the money, it's the best hotel in Playa we've found.
“Better than advertisied”
I was a bit concerned after reading some of the negative comments about the facilities. They could not have been further from the truth. Room very comfortable, food acceptable, very good in the two upstairs resturant. The boats many have complained of are gone during the day and if the few that remain are bothersome, walk a bit down the deserted beach to have clear views.
“Excellent food and great location”
Most resorts are not as centrally located as Grand Coco. It is a $3 cab ride to the downtown strip with all the local dining and shopping. It is a $35 cab ride to Tulum and Xel-ha. We were able to book a trip to Chichen Itza from the hotel as well, which left from the hotel. The Italian and Mexican restuarants are fine dining, excellent quality. If you want something less fancy the buffet is ok, but you should really eat at least once in the downtown area because they really put on a show for tourists, with magic, drinks on their heads etc.. Best Day travel was amazing. They work with Expedia. They ushered us through the airport safely, I reccommend getting the transportation to and from the airport it was easily worth it to buy through expedia. In fact Gran Coco's location is so good you don't need to rent a car. Plus Best Day has a rep in the hotel just for you. He was very helpful with everything from tours to dining in town. Plus let them know if it's your honeymoon they can get you a great view of the ocean. I would love to stay here again. Wonderful all inculsive we ate and drank whatever we wanted all day and night for free! Also US currency is accepted everywhere as well. Only Visa or Mastercard is accepted.
“will for sure will go back”
will like to recomend livier music in the lobby something you can dance to. specialy latin music.
“Heading back in April!”
We loved Grand Coco Bay. It is a beautiful location with a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly. Although it is an older resort it was in great condition and kept spotless. The rooms were typical hotel rooms, but all had a balcony or terrace with a pool/sea view. We liked that it was a smaller resort. From our room it was only steps to the pool, beach or restaurants. We tried all the restaurants and found the food very tasty and there was a good variety presented at the buffet. We plan to return in April with our children and their grandparents! Also, Playa Del Carmen is great to visit with all the shops and eateries.
