The all-inclusive Gran Porto Real resort offers 287 air-conditioned guestrooms. Decor is Mediterranean/hacienda, with sponge-painted walls, ornate ceiling fans, handmade wooden furniture, and marble tile floors. Rooms are located in two five-story buildings with elevators.
Each room offers an in-room safe, direct-dial telephone with voice mail, cable TV, and DVD/CD player. Additional amenities include vanity mirrors, electronic/magnetic key entries, and coffee makers.

Health and Sushi Bar - Oriental Cuisine. Located on the roof of the third floor of the hotel. Features a variety of drinks from tropical favorites and natural juices to traditional cocktails, while remaining in the peaceful atmosphere of the pool. Open for lunch.

Entertainment
The resort provides daily entertainment, which includes games, activities, and live music in the lobby bar. Nightly entertainment includes live shows and theme parties.
Recreation
A freeform pool is home to a full slate of daily activities, from contests to water volleyball; it also has a shallow children's area. A second pool on the third-floor terrace has a swim-up bar and is designated as a quiet area for adults only. Guests with children ages 4–12 can take advantage of the supervised child care and activities at the kids' club.
The Gran Porto's recreation staff presents daily activities, including bike tours of the area, cooking classes, aqua aerobics classes, and game tournaments. For guests who would rather go their own way, the hotel provides complimentary bicycles. An on-site health club includes a spa with sauna and steam room, a fitness center, and beauty salon.
An 18-hole golf course is less than 10 minutes away; mini-golf is available 20 minutes south of Playa del Carmen. Concessions a short walk from the resort's beach provide parasailing, windsurfing, and water skiing. The hotel provides snorkeling equipment and an introductory scuba lesson in the pool (included in the All-Inclusive Plan). Additional scuba equipment and tours can be arranged on site.

“Great Hotel - should be rated higher”
I love hotels. I've tried a bunch and because I travel for business have had the privilege of staying at some really beautiful, posh hotels. This hotel in my opinion has been underrated. The staff was as friendly as could be, nicer even then some of the fancy hotels. It was super clean, i always saw someone polishing or sweeping something. I booked online and saved a lot of money over the quoted hotel price. Perfect location, better even then the Royal next door. It's casual, it's friendly and it's comfortable. The food was decent/good in the daytime, excellent at the dinner restaurants in the hotel. The beach drinks were awesome and the staff was super nice. You must go for the ocean front rooms, it's the only way, and it's worth it.
“Exceptional service, great location”
This was our honeymoon trip. We have never been to Mexico and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff at Gran Porto real were all very friendly, everyone provided great service. They decorated our room with flowers every day. The resort located right next to the beach and walking distance to shopping town. On the last day, they upgraded us to a VIP room in Cancun but we did not enjoy our stay in Cancun at all. Playa was a much better location, less busy and city like. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We loved it!
“AWESOME TRIP”
My fiance & I went to Playa del Carmen to celebrate my birthday and I must say i was really impressed with the hotel. it seem to a bit older than maybe some of the other hotels but it was still very nice. the food was pretty good. The beach behind the hotel is not the best due to the large rocks but you cant still get in it. Except for the check in process (guy at check in counter rude and stated we could not check in without reciept even though we booked through expedia & had our reserveation in front of him) our stay there was great. Has a nice pool and drinks were good. The rest of the staff was great and really assisted us in getting info about tours and places to go. Would definetly go back to Grand Porto Real.

Our stay at this hotel was extremely enjoyable. The entire staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The water activities were fun, the food at all the restaurants was delicious. I would definitely go back!

This was a great hotel, the staff where great and the location is pefect if you are wanting to stay in town close to the shopping and bars.
“Good Food, Cold Drinks”
As soon as we arrived we were greated with a glass of champagne. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We ate at the buffet every morning, their breakfast selection was the best! The buffet right on the beach totally hit the spot after a long morning of swimming. The rooms were super cozy. We recommend to upgrade to a Ocean Front Room, totally worth it especially if you have little ones. All Inclusive is the way to go... My real only complaint on the room was the water temp. in the shower kept changing but other than that it was nice. The staff there is super friendly and will go to the extreme to make your stay there awesome. I have a 4 year old and he enjoyed the white sandy beach and the crystal blue water. Also everything you need is right there in the resort. From kayaking, snorkeling, jet ski and so much more.... We will definelty recommend Gran Porto Real to our family in friends..
“GREAT VACATION”
I just returned from Playa Del Mar and stayed at the Gran Porto Real for 6 nights.After doing a lot of research I decided to stay at the GPR and it was everything that I was looking for. First off the resort was beautiful and the staff was friendly and always helpful.Secondly it was centrally located,As far as resorts are concerned it was the closest to the famous 5th Ave where everyone goes to walk,shop,drink and eat. I am already thinking about my next trip back.

Spacious room, everyone helpful and friendly. Service excellent. Will return to Gran Porto for next Mexican Vacation!!!!!
