“Nice family resort for the money.”
This resort was nice. The food could have been a little better, but there was a lot of variety at the buffet. The rooms were nice and clean. There were a lot of activities for children and young adults. Beach was beautiful. We really liked the shopping on site at the Hacienda Isabella. We would possibly stay again, but we would bring the kids back next time.
“Awesome!”
Awesome. The resort was great! Our return flight with Delta got cancelled and they had already re-booked us on a better flight home! It couldn't have been better!
“Amazing Resort!!!”
Great resort for families: great pool, excellent food, very clean, wow on the service. A real 5 star, everyoneis so friendly and many choices for food. Downfall: a good 1hr 1/2 from airport, found 2 cockroaches in room. **Use Best Day Travels to get to the resort they are SO nice, our flight was delayed by 24hrs, and they still honoured our voucher.
“"Can't wait to go back"”
Best hotel I have ever visited! Such a nice place! Friendly and helpful staff and resort was beautiful!
“ill do it again Great time! I would definately recomend GBP coba to anyone that wants to get away and unwind! :)
“awesome food and all the drinks you can handle”
overall-reort was excellent. very few american's at resort--mostly all europeans or hispanics however. when booking--make sure you book with a bus that transports to hotel and back from airport. taxi from airport to resort cost us $100.00.
“Can't wait to return”
Best hotel resort we have ever stayed with.
“Going back to Bahia Principe!!”
What an impression the Bahia Principe Coba makes upon arrival! We fell in love with it even though it was dark when we arrived! It is simply beautiful! We quickly and efficiently checked into our very spacious and well set up suite and went off to the first of many fabulous meals and a drink in the buffet. The employees were so helpful and kind. Our suite was only 2 buildings away from the night time entertainment which is too loud for our taste but you couldn't hear it in our suite. We enjoyed very good food in the buffets and the specialty restaurants (Japanese in particular). We were always able to find a quiet space when we wanted one. It was so easy to either walk or take the golf carts from one resort to the other. What a deal - 3 resorts for the price of 1!
“I am not going back to the same hotel again but in this case I would make an exception.”
Nicely kept, friendly, no trobles at all.
“Gran Bahia Principe Akumal - Still the Best!”
Four of us stayed for 8 nights at the Gran Bahia Principe in the Akumal section (May 23rd to the 31st, 2009). Unfortunately, because of the H1N1 flu virus, the two other sections of this huge resort (Coba and Tulum) were closed; however, although the amenities at these other sections were unavailable, the amenities on offer at the Akumal section were outstanding, and fully met our expectations. Our lovely rooms were kept very clean and were as roomy and comfortable as we remembered them from our last visit in February, 2007, and the service we received from waitpersons, bartenders, 'pool guys', etc. was prompt, friendly and welcoming. The Akumal area is beautiful and interesting and offers many highlights, including snorkeling at Akumal Bay, the Mayan ruins at Tulum and Chichen Itza, and swimming/snorkeling in underground freshwater rivers (Cenotes) that honeycomb the peninsula. A visit to the town of Playa del Carmen is also fun, and getting there was easy - take one of the local transportation vans ("Collectivos") that stop just outside the resort entrance(30 pesos per person, each way). My husband and I feel that the location and value given the quality and variety of the resort make it an excellent choice - my husband and I worry a bit that visiting any other all-inclusive will be a let-down in comparison. Highly recommended!
