“Very pleasant hotel! Wonderful experience”
Super hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. We had a wonderful experience at this hotel and highly recommended for everyone! Food was good at most of the restaurant; if you order room service please remember to order earlier as it takes around 30 mins!
“If this isn't Paradise it very close to it...!!!!!”
This is an Excellent Hotel - if you want to please your better half - this is the place to go. Service, attention, food (8 restaurants), drinks (10 bars) + your own bar in your room, room service 24 hours, if this isn't paradise it's very close to it. The spa in your room + the spa on site you have to see - don't tell anyone but the spa is the place to go from the pool after a day at the beach, pool or laying in the sun, you want to cool off - go to the spa, water is cool and you can relax. The biggest decision we had to do, was to decide which restaurant to go to every night, and they were all excellent, service and attention was always there. The only problem - was the internet plug in did not work with my voip, but the WiFi was excellent in the room and anywhere on site. We will return for sure, if you have a chance at the morning buffet ask to be served by Gustavo - he will start your day on the right foot - what energy and fun to be served by a person that wants to give all his attention to you. Also special mention @ the Lobster - if you love lobster - ask for the Lobster tail...wow and if Francisco is there he's a lot of fun. At Isabelle Restaurant - ( French cuisine) - excellent service and your better half will enjoy. So this was a wonderful experience at the Excellence.
“Adults Only Paradise”
Absolutely loved this place. There are numerous pools - lots of activities if you want them and places to relax if you don't. The spa is the best I've ever experienced - take the hydrotherapy with your service for an even better experience. All staff are great. Good choice of restaurants - overall Spice seemed to be the fave and the French the most disappointing. Could go on and on but would definitely go back.
“Everything we expected and more.”
Having an 18 month old, this was the perfect, quiet getaway to recharge the batteries. Can't say enough about the service and the facility. We did a lot of research before booking, and all of the positive reviews on various websites are accurate.
“Ecellence all the way!”
What an excellent place. Top-notch all the way. Every member of the staff was super friendly and made every effort to assure we were happy. Hard to find fault in this place. Great rooms, great pools, great food, great drinks, and lots of nice people. One tip--bring a pool floatie because they go fast!
“Excellent service at the Excellence”
We were surprised that this big hotel was so "private". Excellent service, great beach, the meandering pool allows for lots of quiet spots, good night entertainment and great food. Did I mention great service? We've been to boutique hotels and other hotels in the area and will go back to the Excellence. Best spa, better than my past favourite at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale!
“Excellence riviera 2010”
This resort is the best i have been to in the Mayan. Have been to 3 other 4 and 5 star resorts here. The resort and beach is the best we have been to in the Mayan. The fact that you don.t need to make reservations at the restaurants is one of the best parts of the holiday. No schedule to keep or interrupting a nice afternoon nap to go eat !!!
“Nice Place!”
This is a perfectly lovely hotel. If you are not satisfied here, you will probably not be satisfied anywhere, and might consider staying at home. Our best experience was snorkelling in Puerto Morelos, which cost $25 U.S. per person, or 300 pesos, through the Co-Op. The reef is beautiful, lots of fish and living coral, and our guide, Pas, was most interesting and wanted us to see everything there was to see. We saw beautiful fish, a ray, a sea turtle, and a very large moral eel. I would highly recommend this experience. Walk 45 minutes down the beach and ask for the Co-Op, which is just off the main square and you really can't miss it. We enjoyed the Mexican, Italian, and Indian restaurants the most. The main pool is a bit unusual, in that it is circular, but if you like to swim, you can just keep swimming for a long time without touching and turning at the end. Don't miss the Michael Jackson show, or the circus show; both excellent! We have been to both the Excellence in the DR and this one, and they are both great places to vacation. Restaurant staff, in particular, are very gracious and helpful. Don't forget to attend the Spanish lessons!
“Excellence Riviera Cancun - excellente”
My wife and I had the pleasure of spending a week at the Excellence Riviera Cancun. I probably researched this to death as I had never stayed in the area. We wanted an adults only experience in an all-inclusive. This choice could not have been any better. The staff were the most friendly, the food was tremendous (we didnt get to all the restaurants) if you had dinner before 7pm there was never a wait more than 20 minutes. We also avoided the tours and hired a cab (Ellio - can # 74) to take us down to Tulum/Playa Del Carmen. His english was great adn we learned more about the mexican culture/government/people in those 3 hours in the cab than we would have otherwise. Be sure to go to the "lounge" after sunset and sip a drink while looking at the stars. Its tremendous. When you're ordering mixed drinks be specific about your brand and you will not be dissapointed. I had heard that the beds were hard. They are. However after a day in the sun adn great meals I dont believe I ever had a hard time falling asleep. Tip the maids nicely and they fold up your clothes and treat you like kings. Remember that while it is all inclusive the staff still depend on some level of tips and are quite gracious.
“A LITTLE BIT OF PARADISE WITH THE BEST MARTINIS!”
The next time we return to ERC we will take a taxi from the airport. This is our 3rd trip to the Mayan and each time the hassle at the airport is exhausting. Best Day transportation is a ridiculous waste of time, They walk back and forth talking to each other, the van doors are open and we waited 45 minutes until we finally told one of them we had enough; then they boarded us and finally on our way. Not how you want to start your vacation. The return was worse, the driver got sent back to another hotel because somebody missed their shuttle, the next stop 5 very hungover men took their time getting on, we were an hour and one-half getting to the airport-unacceptable since our hotel was 20 minutes from Cancun. Expedia needs to review the airport transporter system, its terrible.People you are paying for this service, avoid the hassle and take a taxi, we will never go through this again. This resort is absolutely the best we have stayed in Mexico. Everything is perfect from the staff, the food, the rooms and especially the service 5* plus. Our favourite restaurant was french, however, New Years@Barcelona was superb! The martini bar is a great place to meet people from all over and everyone is so friendly. Lots to do if you are so inclined, we just wanted to rest after Christmas, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The spa is just a beautiful experience and quite reasonable. I know we will be returning to ERC, however, we will arrive by taxi..
