“Always wonderful and relaxing there!”
This is our 2nd time at the catalonia resort. We love it here because having little children, this is a very family friendly location and not crazy nightlife like cancun is. We also love going to feed and swim with the hundreds of fish nearby. Lots of activities to do there such as snorkling, kayaking, sailing and even scuba diving. The food is excellent with daily themes. Do take advantage of reserving for the many restaurants there! Again, it's all in the inclusive plan!!!! I love the japanese cooking show! It's a MUST!! Oh yeah, the kids can't get enough of the pina colada... virgin, that is!! :)
“Clean and well kept”
Our stay at the Catalonia Riviera Maya could not have been better. The hotel was extremely clean and well kept, and the staff was attentive and friendly. They had plenty of activities at the resort grounds, we rarely waited in lines for food or drinks, and enjoyed their ocean and poolside views.
“Best Honeymoon Ever!!”
Went to the Catalonia for our honeymoon and it was the best experience ever!! The hotel was clean, beautiful, the staff were great and the food was good. The activities at the hotel were great, there was snorkeling and kayaking offered free for an hour daily. We kept bringing drinks to our friend at the snorkeling station and he allowed us to stay with the snorkeling equipment all day!! I would recommend this hotel to everyone, the waters of the ocean is crystal clear. There are rocky parts, but with the water being so beautiful you get past it!!

“Wonderful hotel for a great price!”
We enjoyed our stay at the Catalonia Yucatan Beach very much. The property was very clean, the staff helpful and friendly. We upgraded to a deluxe ocean view room definitely worth it. Our room was on the fourth floor looking straing out at the ocean. It was a bit of a pricey upgrade, but well worth it/ As far as the food goes, I would say, having stayed at many AI hotels before, it was average. Nothing special, though there was a lot to pick from at the buffet and the staff was wonderful. We ate at three a la carte restaurants; the japenesese, which comes highly recommended, the Mexican, which was fairly good, and the Italian, which was okay. We loved the crepery; went there every night for delicious crepes and ice cream. Pools were great. We took our two-year-old son with us and he had a wonderful time, especially in the pools. You did have to get up fairly early to save a palapa, which was very important for us, since we did have a little one who did not want to be in the sun all day. This is a very family friendly hotel. Be sure to tip the staff a few extra dollars. They work around the clock and work so hard. My family also owns a hotel property and I have never see a staff work as hard as at the Catalonia.
“Excellent value for the money...exceptional staff!”
We travelled in December 2009 to Mexico to meet up with friends. This is not the hotel we would have chosen, but we were so suprised, and impressed with it. For the money, the value was great. We have travelled a fair bit, and are not 5 star people. We tend to prefer the smaller, laid back atmosphere of a 3-4 star hotel. The staff at the Catalonia Yucatan PA were outstanding! We were impressed every day with the friendly, helpful, outgoing manner of everyone we met. I know basic Spanish, and we had some good conversations/communications with staff. I have never experienced such a positive vibe overall from the staff at a resort such as this. The selection, and variety of food choices was great. There are 4 al la cartes to choose from, and they all specialize in different ethnic food. The buffet was always hot, always good. We did not get bored or tired of food here. The creperie was to die for. Banana splits, and Crepes for dessert...to die for! We are big into snorkelling, and while you could use the lagoon and front beach, there were too many waves to really have a good experience. Short cab ride to other better snorkel spots was easy. We felt safe at this resort. We would recommend it to friends, especially friends with small children as the lagoon made for a super kid friendly beach spot! Make sure to have a Mango Margareta if you go :-)
“Overall excellent”
Overall excellent. Excellent buy. You get a nice room,excellent food,friendly staff and a wonderfull poolside/beach for a reasonable price. The only problem we had was with the speciality dinning were you received tickets. The last 3 nights were completly booked thus we did not get to use our last ticket. The lady at this service was also very unfriendly.
“Excellent place for family and group”
Very clean, excellent service, yummy food, friendly and caring. They even soap and mop the path ways. We loved the Japanese and Mexican restaurants. Also this place is very kids friendly. If you are planning for a trip to Cancun or Rivera Maya, Catalonia is your best bet. 200% satisfaction guaranteed.
“Fantastic Honeymoon!”
This resort was amazing! We went there for our honeymoon and arrived on November 29th. It was more than we could have hoped for. The service was amazing and there really was no language barrier. We were treated like a King and Queen and had a fantastic time. We upgraded to the honeymoon suite and it was well worth the price. I would definitely go back to this resort and hope to in the future!
“New experience”
Great secluded location away from it all. Plenty of activities. The Italian Restaurant was the best! Gotta go to the LaCreperie for dessert. Marina near by (walking distance), for chartering fishing or snorkeling trips. Also nice restaurants at the Marina.
