“Very nice hotel”

Hotel is very nice. Restaurants are great and so is the staff. There are not a ton of activities to do, but it is a great place to go if you are looking to relax. As many people have noted in various reviews, the clientele is mostly European, specifically Italian and booked there through Veratour it would seem. Nearly all of the staff speaks English pretty well and most guests do as well, but it is almost no-one's first language. If you are an American you will be in the minority here and it will feel a little odd at first, but once you get used to it you will be fine. Overall this is a great place to stay with beautiful rooms, delicious restaurants, awesome nature walkways, and a wonderful beach.

“Enjoyed our stay”

We stayed for five nights at CRT and enjoyed our stay immensely. We had great weather, good snorkeling and met lots of new people. It is an adult only and the beach/pool/barservice was consistently excellent. The concierge and the restaurant servers were inconsistent, but the food was as good as any we have had in Mexico. They aim to please, and we will be back if the price is right.

“First Time in Cancun”

This was our first time in Cancun and also our first stay at an all-exclusive. The resort was very nice and comfortable and the staff was great. The rooms were large and enjoyable - we loved the animal creations the staff did we the towels. The beach was excellent, only issued is you had to get up early like 6am to go to the beach and stake your claim to the beach chairs. Don't know a answer to that one. The restaurants were good and very little waiting. I liked the all-exclusive, the drinks were great and a lot of choice at the restaurants. Only thing to add is maybe more snacks available during the day - but maybe it is planned that way. Overall, a great experience and we would go back and recommend to others.

“Truly impressed!”

Our stay at the Catalonia was everything and more than expected. The site was beautiful, rooms clean and spacious. The staff was delightful and always helpful. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the various resturant of which we tried all but one. The breakfast and lunch buffet was unbelievable as to how much food and it was fresh with a lot of variety. The entertainment at night was very enjoyable with much talent. The beach was white sand with plenty of chairs for large crowds. Lot's of fish close in for snorkeling and feeding dinner rolls. Try the sea kayaking and sailing. We rented a car and visited Xel Ha which is a must see. Plan on spending the whole day there. There really was nothing disappointing about where we stayed. We would stay there again.

“Great All-Inclusive for Adults ONLY Resort!”

A jungle in paradise. What to expect: Warmth & good service from the resort staff. Peace and quiet. Sights & sounds of nature. Good food, fresh fruit shakes by the beach & lots of alcoholic beverage. Depending on which building your room's located at, you always have the choice to take that beautiful stroll from your room to wherever you want to go within the resort or an electric car can take you to your destination at your request. I personally don't like crowded beaches & especially pools, & I'm glad my husband & I made our 10 day visit in Sept. (Sept. & Oct. low season). Details: *The room smelled very musky - it's gotta be the humidity. Leave your air conditioner on at all times, the musky smell gets diminished. The room otherwise, was always kept clean & well made-up. *I prefer sleeping on a firm bed & I have to say I felt like I was sinking on the hotel bed. *Refrigerator contents (re-stocked as needed) & room service are inclusive. *Unique resort entertainment provided by very talented & friendly staff headed by Antoine & his wife, Melina. *Catamaran ride is free for 20 mins. The use of the canoe & snorkeling gear are also free at the Pro-Dive shop. Try out scuba diving with Pro-dive for an awesome 1st dive experience especially with instructor, Christian who literally held my hand during the entire dive. *Don't forget to feed the school of Angel fish that comes around you at waste deep. They love fresh bananas.

“Our Second Time at Royal Catalonia!”

This was our second time to the Catalonia Royal Tulum. We loved it so much last year we decided to return. The beach is absolutely breathtaking. There are no other resorts on this 2 or 3 mile stretch of beach, so it feels very private (though there is a little beach front restaurant/shack down the sand quite a ways, it is too far away to bother you). The water is clean, clear, and the perfect temperature. There are always some waves, but they are gentle and soothing. "AquaGym," AKA water aerobics, in the ocean is always fun. We did get up and reserve chairs on the beach at 7 every morning, but this is not because there weren't enough chairs, it was because we had a special spot that we liked. The Spa/Gym is small but adequate. Treadmills are nice. We did upgrade this year to the junior suite, and it was worth the extra money. The bed linens were nicer, the bed frame and mattress were of greater quality, and the room itself was bigger with a little seating area that we took advantage of. All the restaurants are excellent. The tapas restaurant called "Terrace" is great, but make sure you bring a bottle of bug repellant that has 98-100% deet. Those bottles are tough to find, but necessary for the large number of mosquito bites that you get at night. The resort doesn't advertise this fact, but you can restaurant jump if you want by having an appetizer at one place and then a meal at another. The Grill restaurant is the best as long as you get there early to get the best seat!

“Beautiful Resort”

Everything was excellent, the food was pretty good and they had enough variety. The only minor compliant I had was if the food could be a tiny bit better (and it was still good), I've been to other surrounding resorts where the food was a little bit better.

“Great relaxing vacation”

Beautiful hotel, amazing beach, decent restaurants, friendly staff. Highly recommend! The only downside was Expedia (Best day) rep Fernando, who chastised us on missing out meeting with him & attempted to scare us into changing our scuba company from the Prodive at the hotel to Expedias recommended company with a story of a man who was in a coma after scuba. Otherwise great trip though!

“Relaxing Oasis”

Great hotel, everything we expected and more. You must like the outdoors to stay here. We were surrounded by jungle and it was great. Very quiet by the pool and beach. Food was great too.
