“We'll go back at New year eve's... everything awesome!!!”
We enjoyed it at 100% This hitel is a 1 on my favorites on the Riviera Maya.
“Viva Catalonia!”
This hotel is awesome. The service is phenomenal. The food and drinks are neverending. Wide variety of food and it all tastes great. The groundskeepers and housekeepers never stop cleaning. Everything is spotless at all times. Beach and lagoon are gorgeous with lots of tropical fish to see. Pools and pool bars are a lot of fun. Privileged one bedroom suite is well worth the price to upgrade. Spa is beautiful and relaxing. Animation crew are the most fun and talented people I have ever met. Nightly shows were very entertaining. Community town and marina with dolphins is cool. I can't say enough good things about this place. Wish I was still there. Special thanks to Sergio, Nazario, Tasia and Alejandra. If you are planning an all-inclusive vacation, this place cannot be beat for the money spent. Go and see for yourself!
“10th Year Anniversary GREAT!!!”
We stayed at Catalonia Riviera Maya for a total of 4 days! It was amazing! We ate at all the Resturaunts (food was great!) and even had a private dinner on the beach! Unforgettable! Staff gave TOP service and was always very helpful! Most servers, waiters, busboys, bar tenders spoke English, Spanish, and other languages! Guest Sevices lady spoke atleast 5 languages!! Incredible stay and can't wait to go back! Caution -- this hotel is approx. 45 minutes from the airport! Take a Taxi from airport because it is quicker!! Taxis are very easy to get around in here!
“WE WILL BE BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The service was more than expected!! Everything is close by !! The Buffet was Excellent !! But the food at the snackbar was cold ! We are planing a return trip !!
“You can count on us returning year after year!”
This was our 4th trip to the Catalonia Riviera Maya resort in two years - we loved our first stay so much that any opportunity for travel led us back here! The resort size is just perfect - not too small and not too large. The pools, beach and lagoon are fantastic. We never had to search too hard to find pool chairs or beach chairs. Our two young boys have a great time at the beach, pool and Kid's Club. I can't say enough about the staff - very courteous, helpful, friendly, hard working people to ensure your stay is pleasant - thanks to all of you wonderful hosts! The food in my opinion is really good , and as far as the restaurants go, the Bomboleo Grill is absolutely fantastic. We previously chose cruises for our vacations, but after coming to this all inclusive resort last year we have gladly chosen this as our vacation destination of choice - it is so relaxing and everything is so conveniently close. We definitely will keep coming back and can't wait to see the staff again!!
“Would definately go back....”
Upon being transported to the airport my friend realized that she forgot her gold ring in the safe lockbox. We called the hotel and asked them to look for it and to forward it to the hotel and an hour before our flight took off she got her ring back!!!!!
“Can't wait to go back”
This hotel is the highest quality. The service we received was excellent. Our only negative is the time of year that we went. Sept. is a hot/MUGGY time of year also rainy. When we go again it will be in jan. or feb.
“The Best Kids Club”
We have been going to Mexico for 20 years and the Catalonia was one of our favorites! The service was outstanding and you have the benefit of the sister hotel on the same property so a choice of 2 buffets. The best restaurant was the Japanese and you could enjoy ice cream and crepes served fresh every night. The entertainment staff is wonderful all day long at the pool and then each night they perform upscale shows from 9:30-10:30 and will even dance with the guests in the disco till 2am. I cannot say enough about how talented each of them are! This was our first Kids Club experience for our 4 & 6 year old, we were blown away with the activities from 10-5 each day; they will even keep your kids through lunch! My kids never wanted to leave. Each night the kids perform on stage from 9-9:30 before the adult show. Parents raved about this Kids Club being the best in Mexico, Thanks Suemy!!! The Catalonia has a nice gym but prices are high; $110 for a massage. Went to Playa (9 miles north) and paid $36 for a 90 minutes deep tissue. The main beach is rocky but the beach extends around a canal where the water is calm & you can kayak. My only small compliant was that all 4 of the pools were cold & no hot tubs but you get a tub on your outside deck with your suite which is a must upgrade. Also the fruit all tasted bland which is not what I am used to in Mexico but you could always find something good to eat and none of us got sick. Take bug spray; the mosquito’s come out at dusk.
“Beautiful Resort”
Pros: beautiful beach, buildings, pools and grounds; ample lounge chairs and space on beach and in and around pools; nice dinner restaurants, decent buffet, late night bar and grill for people who stay up and need a snack late, lots of free drinks; excellent housekeeping and grounds-keeping; mostly pleasant servers and helpful staff; spacious hotel room ("privileged" room) with mini-fridge stocked daily (the three 600ml bottles of water were essential) Cons: reserved a room with king bed and got a room with two double beds pushed together (when we complained they offered us another room with a king bed but it was an inferior room so we opted to stay); the lock on the sliding glass door to our balcony was broken; it was difficult to get into the nice dinner restaurants - we were able to use 2 of our 3 free dinner passes Notes: My wife LOVED the towel animal origami our housekeeper surprised us with each day. There are a lot of rocks on the beach and there are reefs just into the water so ocean swimming is limited, but you can find ways in and swim around. There is also a lagoon to swim in and there is extra beach space there. Some rocks jut into the ocean and you can walk out onto them; when you stand at the edge some pretty nice breakers are only 20-30 meters away.
“Fantastic vacation”
I would definitely stay at the Catalonia again. The service was terrific, the food was good, the beach was huge and had great snorkeling, and the pool areas were clean.
