“03/5-03/12”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort. The hotel staff was very courteous and hospitable. The room originally booked located on the ground floor of Tulum had a musty scent. We couldn't stay in that room due to my mother's allergy. We went to the front desk informing them of this & the room was quickly changed to the fourth floor of Chichen Itza. The hotel was very clean. The hotel employees are constantly cleaning the side walks and trimming the palm trees. The beach had nice powdery sand with plenty of beach chairs. There is seaweed close to the shore (employees rake the seaweed), so all you need is some water shoes it you do not want to walk through the seaweed to get to the clearer water. There is a lagoon located not too far from the hotel. The food was good with many choices at buffet. Plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Enjoyed the Brazilian Dinner Show, International Dinner Show and Mexican Show. Woman singing during the Mexican Show has an amazing voice! Disliked it when folks reserved lounge chairs early in the morning by placing a towel on the chair and some of the chairs were unused through out the day. If you are leaving the chair for a long period of time, kindly remove your belongings, so somebody else can utilize the chair. Also, I didn't like that you needed to make an appointment to an a la carte restaurant as early as 7am the day before to get a reservation for 7:30pm because if you didn't then the next reservation was at 9:30pm.
“Would definitely go again.”
Great place to stay! 20 dollar cab ride to Playa del Carmen and within 30 minutes or so to Tulum. Few minor problems with the room but nothing worth noting here, since they were all small things.
“Blue Bay - well worth it!”
our first all inclusive experience. We've travelled all over teh world and stayed in many resorts in places like Thailand, Samoa, Fiji, Rarotonga, Tahiti etc... We really enjoyed the Blue Bay, it was a great Hotel, great staff, restaurants and food were excellent, plenty of drink and wonderful staff around the pool always bringing you the next drink just as you finished the one you were on! All in all a great family vacation spot, would definately go again!
“Great stay!”
My partner and I traveled to BlueBay from May 10-14,2012 and the experience was amazing. We stayed in the Telum building number 1 and it was a great distance from dining as well as the pool and beach. If you are lazy, the walk will bother you, if you like to take small walks after eating, you will not have a single complaint because it is not a big deal! Staff was great and food was on point. We ate at buffet, seafood, and french restaurants. Get the shrimp tacos from the seafood restaurant! Front desk was great. If you want a chair at the pool, get there early. We saw people coming down as early as 6am, wrapping towels around two chairs to hold them, then heading back to the room...not cool. The water at the beach was OK, but the sands were really nice. Drinking from melons and coconuts with supurb bartenders in a tropical location simply cannot be a negative experience! We will go back again! If you take the Best Day shuttle option, make sure you call ahead of your trip to give your filight info. I called, but the lady told me she did not need my info and to simply find a representative at the airport and I would be taken care of. They did take care of us, but since they did not have our info ahead of time, it took 30+ minutes to get our shuttle and head to the resort. The drivers and busses of Best Day were great, just make sure they have your info!
“Nice stay and friendly service.”
We truly enjoyed our stay at this resort. The conceirge, "Israel" was outstanding and really went above and beyond to help out us with a couple of items that I needed. If you enjoy eating and drinking.....well you will enjoy it here. Not the top of the line food but tasty and lots of choices. The resort common areas are super clean. The rooms are always kept clean ....first thing in the morning sheets and towels are replaced. You don't have to tip and it is not expected....but when you have a staff that waits on you hand and foot and you never....never.....hear a complaint or feel like your burdoning someone......we tipped......!!!! The beach was nice....the water was not the best to look at. Just a short walk and you can see one of the nicest lagoons! Very affordable vacation. I would go again.
“Excellent Hotel”
We had a great experience at this hotel, the service was great and everybody was very friendly. The food was amazing. I strongly recommend this hotel.
“Pampered Paradise”
Huge property w/extensive ocean front. However, not may ocean view rooms. We paid extra to have one and were extremely happy we did. Food, beverages and service were fantastic. Specialty restaurants needed reservations, but were worth the hassle to get them. Although I would have liked to have had a location where snorkeling was possible, just being by the ocean was the next best thing. Since I have been to this area many times, I didn't need to travel beyond the resort. But, I would tell first-timers they should go to at least one of the specialty parks (Xel Ha, Xcaret) as well as visit the archeological sites. It all gets pricy, however.
“Great experience!”
It was a VERY clean and well kept area. The hote grounds is very spread out which makes a walk to the lobby back to your room a low intensity workout, but there is always the option of the trolley that is accessible makes getting from spot to spot on the hotel grounds easy. The staff is very accommodating and attentive to their guests. We had a deluxe garden view room on the first floor closer to the beach. My boyfriend and I went as spring break was starting to die down a bit, and it could have fooled us!! One minor downside would be the echos heard in our room from the hallway due to a serious lack of insulation, but this did nit hinder our experience in the least bit. The pool area was always busy, but never crowded. The most impressive part that we found while at the pool was their public restrooms; because our room was a little further to walk back to for a quick bathroom break this was the quickest option and we both were shocked at the sanitary facilities for the high volume of people. The restaurants were fine--nothing to write home about. My boyfriend and I did not leave the hotel at all because it offered everything we were looking for. It costs extra to do the water activities and to lay in the VIP cabannas on the beach ($25 roughly for the whole day) which realy isn't too bad. Overall great experience which I would recommend to everyone.
“Good vacation place”
nice experience we will go back hotel very clean staff very helpful we love the food at the various restaurants our desires were fulfilled to have a relaxing and comfortable vacations
“super hotel”
