“Beautiful Paradise”

The Barcelo Palace is as beautiful as it appears in all the pictures. Everything was very clean and well kept. One complaint was that the rooms smelled musty even though they were clearly very clean and it wasn't so bad that it really bothered us and the other thing was like the other reviews mentioned that the beds were hard. The staff was very friendly even to those of us that don't speak Spanish. I didn't feel the people who did speak Spanish got preferential treatment only that they were understood a little easier. Our favorite place was the adult only pool having no small children any longer and the bartender Mario Carrillo was attentive as well as very good making our drinks. I am defiantly hoping to get back soon.

“Plan to return!”

This was our tenth trip to the Riviera Maya, but the first to Barcelo Maya Palace. Out of all the places we've stayed, we found this resort to be the best! We felt the food was better than any we've experienced in Mexico. And the room was beautiful with the best beds! Yes, beds in Mexican resorts tend to be hard. Our bed was very comfy at the Barcelo. The beach was perfect for us. I was able to see turtles without snorkel gear in shoulder height water! And hubby enjoyed the sea creatures he found by snorkeling further out. We're already planning our next stay at the Barcelo Maya Palace!

“One of the best hotels I've stayed in.”

The short and sweet of it: The hotel is new and beautiful. The service is superb and the friendliness is there. Rooms are the best rooms I've stayed in (considering that I'm very picky with rooms). Buffet food was good, the a la carte restaurants included Brazilian, French and Caribbean. Brazilian and French were nothing special food wise. The atmosphere was great however. We cancelled the Caribbean and stuck to the buffet. I would however recommend the Thai restaurant in the next door Barcelo (also included in your all-inlcusive package). The beach is beautiful - you can see turtles and lots of fishes if you bring your snorkeling gear. The bars are great with plenty of excellent drinks. Go for the Bloody Mary's! If you're going with kids they have an excellent water playground - probably the best I've seen. Great activities inlc. beach volleyball (a bit further down though), water sports/volleyball. Arturo makes it fun! This place is amazing to simply kick back and relax, forget all the worries and let the place cater to you. Enjoy the trip, don't look anywhere else. It is a strong statement but I stick by it.

“wondrful vacation would definately return”

we did the whole package thru expedia, including the transport to and from the airport to the resort. the transport worked out very well, thre were only six of us in the van, and wewere the second ones dropped off. The hotel is beautiful, and has one of the nicest and longest stretches of beach i nthe riveria maya area. We never left the rsort for the whole time we were there . We made reservations for the speciality dinners as soon as we checked in, and had no problem getting the times and restaurants that we wanted. The food was good, especially at the French restaurant. THe drinks were good, top shelf liquor, the only negative is the wines , not very good, although we did "splurge" and purchased a couple of nice bottles of Argentinean wines . the pools areas were nice, especially like the adult only pool section, however we spent most of the time on the beach, we never had any problms getting chairs . would definately recommend it if you are looking for a low key very relaxing vacation.

“Great Wedding Location - absolutely beautiful”

We saw many weddings during our stay. They were beautiful and staff did everything to make each and everyone of them special. We attended a wedding of over 50 and the location, the church at the resort, everything was wonderful. There tends to be days with a lot of wind. Would recommend this site for a wedding and for families - it was wonderful

“Wonderful Resort....not so wonderful food...”

My husband and I went to Barcelo Palace for our 3 year anniversary. This is our second time to Mexico, however our first time on the Gulf of Mexico side. What a difference!! Cabo was lovely, but if you want to swim in the ocean its not the place to go,this is! The water looks like a gem! Our room was fantastic and the compound, and it is a compound, was HUGE. This is nice to look at, but tough to walk through when its 100 degrees outside, espeically if your room is located on the opposite side of all the resturants (as ours was). The resort really does look like the pictures that you see online and its beautiful however my suggestion is to not travel during the months of May through Sept.! It rained (monsoon type rain) for 3 out of the 5 days we were there, so the water was not as clear as I know it can be through out the rest of the season. Also, the food...I am a bit picky with food so this may or may not help but I personally wasnt a fan of the grills, buffets or any of the resturants. We stayed a the RIU in Cabo and the food there was much better but this hotel is much more beautiful so it just depends on what is more important. Happy Travels!

“Had a wonderful time, would go back.”

Had a great time. I found the service and employees helpful and very polite. The food services were great. I would certainly go back and recommend the Barcelo Palace Delux to anyone.

“Fantastic resort!”

I was very pleased to be staying at a European owned resort because I find them to have better service and food than the American resorts. I also enjoyed that the people were not just Americans and Canadians. This resort is beautifully designed and landscaped and I loved the long expanse of the beach with its own small mini reef. The food was wonderful and varied and the specialty restaurants were exceptional. Having so many sports activities included was a huge draw!! Loved being close to Tulum and had an incredible day at Xploret.
