“Simply amazing!!!!!!!!!”
This hotel is one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed at. Everything is amazing. First, the employees are very friendly and polite. Second, the food selection is fantastic. We ended up just going to the buffet or the snack bar because it was not worth using any time making reservations since the variety was simply outstanding. Don't get me wrong, I am sure that the a le carte restaurants were wonderful too, but we were so satisfied with the buffet selection that we did not feel like making reservations anywhere else. The facilities and rooms are incredibly kept. The place is huge and you never see anything out of its place. I don't know how they manage, but they do a great job at keeping the place well kept. If you are going as a couple, I highly recommend you to go to the "adults only" pool. My husband and I spend almost every day there, and there is no better place. The waiters are very friendly and the beds that are by the pool are the BEST!!! I simply cannot say enough about this hotel. I am looking forward to going back next summer. What a great experience!!
“Can't wait to go back”
This was the 2nd time we have been to the Barcelo in Riveriera Maya. We stayed at the Colonial the last time and the Palace this time. This property is just wonderful. Many things to do, friendly staff and all people helpful and courteous. The food was great no matter which restaurant or buffet we ate at. The rooms were immaculate, and I can't think of anything I would change!!! I would go back to either of those properties without thinking twice (and can't wait to)!
“great family atmosphere”
everything was great, food, rooms, service, ... Only recommendation would be to open nice restaurants earlier. It was hard to get reservations. I suggest you call prior to your trip starting to get a couple reservations. Could have used a little more entertainment by the pools, but very family focused.

“Third Visit”
This was our third stay at this resort. We've stayed at three other resorts in the Riviera Maya in the past 10 years. The BMP fits all of our needs: high-end room and bath; long stretch of beach; good snorkeling with no need to leave resort; above average food; and an internet room. (No need to haul laptop!) This visit we tried three a la carte restaurants: Capri, Santa Fe, and Kyoto. We recommend all of them! In particular, the beef tenderloin at Santa Fe and the truffle ravioli at Capri. We've always found the BMP staff friendly and quick to respond to any of our needs. This resort is also a great value!
“Great Time”
Vacationed 4/16 to 4/23. Had second thoughts about going for 7 nights but have no regrets. Although our room was one of the furthest from the Palace itself, we found the walk was pleasant and much needed. The food in the buffets was good, always a great assortment and the staff was extremely friendly, if only we could communicate more. The specialty restaurants were ok but not overly impressive. Our room was a good size, king bed, nice bath and shower. However, it does seem that there is a dampness problem. Even our clothes in the drawers felt damp and there was definitely a damp smell to the room . The beach itself was great and all of the surrounding areas were well maintained, no lack of lounge chairs or seating at the beach bar areas. Would definitely recommend Barcelo Palace. “Heavan”
Stayed at the Barcelo Maya Palace, it was a great hotel beaches were awesome and plentiful. Spent my evenings walking the beautiful paths and going to the many activities they have each night. The food was great and the drinks were good too. Only 2 negatives but these negatives would not stop me from going again. 1. It seemed the pool bars closed to early. 2. You were not able to bring food to the beach, so you have to leave the beach and eat in one of the buffets. I would go again even with the 2 negatives I listed, I just was a little surprised.
“Excellent experience!”
This trip was for our 30th anniversary and it was wonderful. We have been to other all inclusive places in Mexico and Jamaica which were good, but the Barcelo Maya Palace has them all beat. The staff made us feel as if we were their only guests. All we had to do was ask and it was done. All you needed to do was look like you had a question or need and there was someone there to help you. This property is absolutely bautiful. This property is huge and the only drawback was having to decide which dining facility, bar, pool or beach area to use when needed. The dining facilities were all very nice and the food quality and variety were top notch. The only problems we had on this trip had to do with EXPEDIA, the airline, and off property service providers. While we have tried to think of any negatives we experienced at the Maya Palace we keep coming up blank. THE GRACIOUS STAFF PROVIDED THE MOST ENJOYABLE STAY WE HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!
“Amazing Resort Vacation. Beware - Skip the Excursions.”
First class, first rate all the way. Food was marvelous at all buffets and restaurants. Service was impeccable. Name brand liquors, Corona taps everywhere. Freshly made omelets for breakfast. Steaks cooked to order at every meal. Pools are beautiful. Snorkeling right outside your door - bring your own snorkel gear to make it easier - purchased at Modell's for $15.00. There is no need to leave the grounds for anything at all. Skip the pricey excursions. Water sports are right on the grounds. There is nothing as beautiful as your own hotel complex!
“Great Family Vacation, Beautifu Resort!”
We are a family of four, with kids 11 and 6. This was our 2nd stay at Barcelo, 1st time at the Palace and well worth the money. The food was abundant and cooked to order, you will never go hungry and the selection will please all. The ala cart dinners had amazing views of the water and the food was wonderful. Our room was always clean, cold, and fully stocked....loved the turn down service. The beach is the best, up by the Palace it is rocky and perfect for snorkeling, down by the Tropical it is more refined and perfect for the kids to build sand castles. There was always plenty of chairs and shade, no need to rush out early. The pool is huge with a great swim up bar and wait staff. There are chairs in the water and some under cabanas for shade. There is even an adult pool tucked behind the main pool, with it's own bar and great cabanas with beds to relax in right outside the pool. It was very relaxing. The kids loved the water park and they did enjoy the Barcy club, especially my 11 yr old who was old enough for the teen club. He played water volleyball and soccer at the front of the complex (a nice full field). I can't say enough how much we loved the Palace and can't wait to come back. Great place for weddings as well.
