A group of thatched-roof palapas houses a fitness center (minimum age 14) with cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights; a beauty salon offering waxing, a massage room, nail and hair care including hair braiding, women's and men's steam rooms, and a 10-person spa tub. A disco with bar features dancing nightly.
Ground transportation:
Shuttle vans and private cars of varying prices are available. They can be reserved during the process of booking a reservation for this Riviera Maya hotel, via this Web site, and added to the total trip cost.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort All Inclusive offers 627 guestrooms in 3 buildings. Featuring exteriors in rich colors, buildings contain Mayan-style sculptures and garden courtyards. Rooms include garden-view balconies or ground-floor patios furnished with cocktail tables and Mexican-style leather-and-wood chairs.
Decor and furnishings include pastel walls, red-marble accents, and reading chairs. Rooms offer phones and LCD TVs with satellite channels. Safes accommodate laptops. Minibars are stocked daily with soft drinks, beer, and water. Bathrooms contain shower/tub combinations and rainfall showerheads. Bathrobes and slippers provide lounging comfort. Ceiling fans supply a cooling alternative to rooms' air conditioning.
The guestrooms were renovated in September 2009.

Sheltered by an offshore coral reef, the resort's beachfront extends 2.5 km (1.5 mi). Each of the resort's two sides (Beach and Caribe) features a freeform pool. Measuring approximately 100 meters (109 yards) long, the Caribe "quiet pool" includes a separate children's section, and jetted sections. Measuring approximately 125 meters (137 yards) long, the Beach activities pool also includes a separate children's section, jetted sections, and a fountain. Both pools are bordered by shaded hammock areas.
The resort supplies kayaks, pedal boats, and windsurfers, and small sailboats for which reservations and basic skills are required. Land sports include an 18-hole miniature golf course, a 4-hole pitch-and-putt course, and 5 lighted tennis courts.
Not included in the All-Inclusive Plan but available from independent operators near the resort are personal watercraft and ATV tours. A 9-hole golf course is located in Puerto Aventuras 4 km (2.5 mi.) from the resort.

“Will return”
In restoran no brandy only tequila.The concert presentation is not very nice. Will not go to Cancun via Miami airport . Airport completely mess stuff not friendly.Not recommend use Miami Airport.
“One of the Best on Riviera Maya”
Excellent beach and water sports in a beautifully landscaped setting. The largest pool network I have ever experienced. Perfect for families. Very clean and well maintained. Service, welllllll, a bit slow and the front desk could be not particularly helpful.

We loved the gardens, the rooms, the beach, the pools, all amenities - the place is well taken care of.
“Great Vacation”
- Great Hotel. - New Room with extremly comfortable bed. - Best Lunch was at the Captain Morgan's Bar direclty at the beach. - Pier and Beach was perfect for snorkeling - beautiful fishes, stingrays, turtles, baracudas, coralls. - We paid the 15 USD extra for the Japanese restaurant and it was great food and fun!
“5 hotels in one”
Located on a huge amount of acreage, ther are 5 hotels that you have access to on the grounds...although if you do not upgrade to the top level, you only have access to 4. I found no need to upgrade since I could not enjoy everything anyway in the 7 days we were there! Swimming pools (most with swim up bars) and beaches are beautiful. The PADI Dive Shop personnel are the best and I got Open Water Certified while I was there! The hotel grounds are close to Exeret and other fun places to go and only about 8 miles south of Playa de Carmen which is the gateway to Cozumel. The food was a little repititios but it was worht the additional $15 per person to eat at the specialty resteraunts other than the two we had free passes for. I would go back in a heartbeat and definately recommend this place to anyone.
“Great Place”
The Barcelo Maya Beach Resort shares property and amenities with 4 other Barcelo Maya Resorts. Therefore, the property is huge. You have plenty of beach and 3-4 different pools to choose from. The buffet meals were better than your average buffet, but not as good as cooked to order restaurant food. The buffet changes daily so you do not get bored with the food. The water activities were not crowded and were in good condition. The rooms were spacious. Plenty of beach and pool chairs. We are a family of 6 and each of us had something to do. We went at the end of June. Weather was very humid, but was tolerable when on the beach due to the ocean breeze.

My boyfriend i went to the barcelo maya 3/25 - 4/1. the weather was wonderful . windy but cooling.The resort it self was very nice and very accomidating. There was more then enought to do, even though our plan was to beach it all day , which we did.The food was wonderful, the service was terrific, we couldn't ask for a better vacation. I checked all reveiws and found it to be very helpful. We wre more then satisfied.I would like to take another trip down to mexico and i would highly recommend the Barcelo to anyone.I will take the kids next time. The beach was absolutly beautiful.We went jet skiing , that was ok. and we went 4wheeling which was ok. we could had spent the whole time loungeing. The gound where absolutly lovely. Cant wait to go back.

This was our first time to Barcelo Maya Beach. It was wonderful! We we there April 28th thru May 5th..perfect weather... Landscaping was immaculate...and all staff were very nice..we plan to go again next year..Jan
