Exceptional hotel with beautiful villas and great service. Very clean, comfortable and luxurious.

“Better than expected”

We've been travelling quite a few times to Cancun/Riviera Maya and stayed at various resorts. However this stay was just fantastic. The villa with private pool and heated jacuzzi was spectacular and huge. The bed was incredibly confortable. The food was just delicious at each of the 3 a la carte restaurants and compared favorably with any gourmet restaurants around the globe. Deserts could be improved though. The employees are charming and will do everything to make your trip as enjoyable as possible. Although they accept families, this resort is mainly for couples. Don't expect to meet a lot of people around the bar or at the pool. But if you are looking for a relaxing time with great food and wine, this is the place.

“A true 5 star Mexican Resort- we were sorry to leave!”

We spent 6 nights at Banyan Tree in Jan/11 and it was the best resort we have ever stayed at. Villas are spacious with own pool and lounging areas. Very private, secure, beautiful with amazing staff. The hotel is everybit as good as advertised on their website & while the pictures on the webiste and from other travellers photos are great, they can't convey the sense of beauty & serentity you experience while there. The Spa is amazing, breakfast at Orient (Federico is manager & his staff are wonderful) Saffron (Thai) restaurant is fantastic, if you have an interest in cooking, book the available cooking class- $60- my wife loved it, take the boat tour around the resort= fantastic wildlife sightings and tour guide was great. There is just too much to say about this wonderful resort and it does merit its high rating and accolades. Laura and the rest of the wonderful Banyan Tree staff will make your stay memorable! We will be back!
