“First Time in Mexico. Was Impressed with this Resort.”
Resort lay out of grounds was done well. Our room was down by the pool area and it was very quiet at night and even during the day. My daughter really enjoyed the pool. The pool area and the pool were always clean and neat. The grounds were beuatiful and very well kept. The food was excellent and the staff was great. Jorge with guest relations was wonderful, he was alway happy to help, and he loves his job. The maid service was also great. She would make differant things like swans and rabbits out of the towels for my daughter. The nightly shows at the stage were good, they had kids games at 8:30 and a main show at 9:30am. I drove the hotel row in Cancun and was not impressed with what I saw. The hotels reminded me of staying in Las Vegas. I am very happy that I chose Playa Del Carmen and this resort. I felt like I was on vacation and not in a high rise hotel. I recomend this resort to anyone, whether you are on a low budge or not. This place was great for the price. The 10 day trip was great. Can't wait to return and do some more exploring of the culture and the ruins
“Great Trip”
We had stayed here nine years ago and enjoyed our stay. Every year we go to Mexico and stay at different places. We love the grounds on this resort, really beautiful. This is an older resort and the rooms need remodeling but were comfortable enough and kept clean. Our AC worked good and the pool area is nice and clean with even some shade. The food was average for all inclusives. Once a week they had dining outdoors under the stars and serve Mexican food and it was nice and the food the best. Please tip, these employees work so hard and long hours, so please tip them. We had a great trip. I enjoyed shopping at the mall near by. Just exit the resort to the left and walk a block and half, about 15 or 20 shops to enjoy. The ocean view was incredible and I can't wait to go back next year. ,
“Our second stay at Occidental Allegro and WILL return again!!!”
This was our second stay at Allegro, having stayed there 5 years ago as well. We returned to the Allegro for several reasons. The location is great, the staff wonderful and there is always something to do for every age group. The only complaint is the beds, which are just a little softer than the tile floors...other than that, we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more.
“Beautiful Riviera Maya”
Beautiful Riviera Maya We had a great experience at Allegro Playacar. The hotel/resort staff are very warm and friendly. Theit cheerful service added great magic to our wonderful vacation in the Mayan Riviera. We must also mention that they did try to sell us on a 90-minute "welcome breakfast" in exchange for a 'free' massage or car rental. All in all, we would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Playa del Carmen. You will love the caribbean sea front view, pools and the delightful cuisine!
“Loved It!!!”
Everything was GREAT! Staff, Food, Entertainment, Activities, everything! The beds could use some attention. This is my 5th time at this resort and I will always go back. A lot of improvements over the years. Very kid friendly.
“The best time of my life ...”
I was at this hotel for a week, and all I can say is the staff is always smiling, happy, helpful, and most speak good English. The grounds are beautiful, short walk from a shopping center, and a little longer walk to downtown (awesome) or $5 taxi. I would definitely come back, there's a different show every night and the Friday night beach party was SO much fun. I went by myself and had a BLAST! I love the staff - they are so fun and happy and there's always activities that you can do if you don't feel like leaving the hotel. I will definitely go back.
“Loved every minute of our honeymoon!”
We absolutely LOVED the Allegro Playacar! The staff was phenomenal - a little tipping goes a long way. They would see us coming to the bar and have drinks waiting for us or would bring them to our beach chair. It seemed like so many reviews on other resorts mentioned the food being bland - it was so the opposite. We found the food to be excellent. I would recommend making reservations at the Italian restaurant in the resort. We ended up eating dinner there most nights - it was fabulous. You just have to go to the guest services desk to make your reservation and we never had a problem getting in. I do agree with the others that the beds were very uncomfortable but waking up to our ocean front view every morning made the pains all go away. We could not have asked for a better room with a view for our honeymoon stay. I liked that fact that this resort is close (walking distance) to the Playacar mall as well as 5th Ave. We had fun shopping and eating on 5th Ave several nights. And its nice that there is a Wal-Mart and a Mega (like Wal-Mart) nearby for anything yo may have missed while packing. We have forwarded all of our photos to friends and family and already have some who are booking reservations for their next trip. We will definitely be back soon!!!
“Loved it!!!!!!!”
We had an amazing time at this hotel. The staff was first class, room was great, beach was beautiful.
“Great place to go to Relax!”
We went on a girls only , 8 of us vacation, after we got checked in things were great! the food was fantastic, lots of choices. plenty of things to do near the pool, exercise class, games etc.. beach was clean we had a great waiter Jacobo, on the beach anything icee and at breakfast, mamosa's and bloody marys! day 2 he knew what we wanted. Marcello greated us when we got there showed us to our rooms and gave us a little tour of the grounds so that we knew where everything was, he was at our serveice the entire stay, he located a wheelchair for my mom, helped with any room problems (none except one room door woundn't lock), he had a great smile on his face every time he saw us and asked if he could do anything for us. we did take the hotel snorkel trip, it was good, same fish. we also all had massages on the beach, Oh My!! we did get group rates on both the snorkel trip and massages at the time of booking so ask about discounts. we did see only 2 shows they all start between 9:30-10pm never did get to the disco which opened at about 10:30, Yes, we had a wonderful time!
