“Sheraton Rio”
Arrived late Sunday morning & was told the room would not be ready as the hotel was full over the weekend. Isabel at the desk offered (and we used) a hospitality room to change out of travel clothes, use the toilet, etc. Went to the poolside restaurant for a drink & lunch. Room was ready at 2:00pm and it was clean & ready for use. Had dinner at the buffet restaurant between the pools. Good selection of fresh fruit, vegetables, salads at the buffet, with a nice selection of meat from the grill. Breakfast buffet at the restaurant on the 5th floor is pricey and the scrambled eggs were just fair. Again there was a nice selection of fresh fruit.
“Would love to go back”
My Wife, Daughter and I loved "Sheraton Rio" very friendly crew, the suite that we had was really nice and very clean and we had a wonderful view of Leblon and Ipanema beaches along with our private beach. "Would recommend to anybody"
“Can't wait to go back”
Perfect!
“Great Hotel, My Rio Pick”
Loved it! apart from the expensive food, mind you this is a sheraton. The bed was comfortable, they brought us new slippers to take home and the barra express bus (to the mall) was about 2 blocks away. the regular bus (copacabana) was across the street. The lounges were great, and I picked up a painting in the flea market of the beach... Rio resort in the background... :-)
“Great hotel -- clean, comfortable, nice pool area”
My husband and I stayed at the Rio Sheraton for 10 nights for our honeymoon. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the pool area was great. The hotel had a constant 'buzz' which was nice -- lots of people, lots going on. The only down side is the hotel is slightly away from the shops/restaurants, so you have a good 25 minute walk to the nearest shops or you have to take a taxi. You could also take the hotel shuttle, which runs frequently and is convenient. It's worth being slightly farther away to get this better rate for an equally good hotel. The hotel crowd was wonderful -- couples, families, people in their 20s. I recommend staying here and would stay again.
“Great hotel choice”
Great location -- only minutes from the main beaches, but this hotel has a private beach and pools. Other locations are closer to the "beach" action - but this hotel gives you the best of both.
“Rio's best situated hotel”
This hotel is situated in the best possible position with no main road to cross to get to the beach, as it has its own small beach with access from the hotel pool. The pool area is supreme with lovely loungers, hammocks and large leather sofas. The hotel is just off the busy Ipanema front but can be reached easily, just a short walk away.
“A Wonderful Location”
The hotel is situated with direct access to a little used, sheltered beach. It offers a great view overlooking Ipenema beach from the upper floors on two sides. A short walk takes you to the sophistocated LeBlon and a little further Ipenema beaches. The restaurant serves excellent cordon bleue meals.
“Wonderful beach in RIO”
We arrived to the hotel on 31 December. The check-in was very promt, room ready, very clean. We were given the extra Champagne bottle and T-shirts to celebrate the New Year. The Hotel has "private" beach, to which you have an access directly from the pool area, which very conveniente. The Hotel was fully packed, so you had to wait for your food at the pool area for long time. The breakfast was not included in the price, so you were charged extra 40USD per head. In the near by Leblon you can have superb breakfast for 20USD, if you go to the center of town you can eat for 5USD. Nice hotel. very clean, staff friendly, the prices for food are overpriced.
“Can't wait to go back”
Very good place
