“great location”
We spent 4 nights here. One night was on a lower floor room at front of hotel so traffic noisey. Rooms at rear of hotel were great. Fabulous breakfast and great location for beach, shops, banks and nightlife. Good transport links in terms of buses/ underground nearby also. The staff were very helpful. No free internet but otherwise no complaints.
“I would stay at the Vermont Hotel next time in Rio.”
I would stay at the Vermont Hotel next time in Rio.
“Perfect location,hotel is ok.”
It is an old hotel but is clean and the staff is helpfull. The location is great, a walking distance from the beach, good restaurants, and stores. The price is ok for a hotel in Rio in this place.
“awesome location”
near the beach and lots of bars !! ideal to get to know Rio by walk
“Best Location”
the Hotel is at the best location.. the beach is just 5 min walk from the hotel.. the reception desk has absolutely no information about anything.. the ice cream parlor next to the hotel is awesome.. it is also very safe neighborhood..we walked to our hotel even at night arnd 11.30 pm and still felt it was safe.. internet is not free.. the safety box was also not free..they charged 3reals for 1 day.. breakfast was awesome..
“Simple but adequate”
Great price! I little small but very much worth the price. If you don't plan on being in the hotel during your visit to Rio, this place is good to just sleep and be close to everything within a few blocks that may draw your interest.
“Great location, but...”
This hotel is in a very good location in Ipanema, a safe neighborhood in a sometimes unsafe city. The building is quite old and the rooms are not in perfect shape but they are ok for a tourist that just need a place to rest at nights. I was in a room at the back building where there is some big machinery that makes a lot of noise most of the day. Breakfast was fine but the juices were not always sweet enough, fruit was quite good too. Wi-fi was available and quite expensive (US$10 a day, an advertisement in a magazine said that a month in that city is US$15), even though I think it is expensive, it would be easier to put the cost in the room cost since it is no cheap.
“Charges!”
I stayed there for 5 days. If you lose your hotel key they will charge you $25.00 dollars! Take an iron for your clothes they charge $4.50 to iron a t-shirt and to wash $6.00 dollars. They won't let you use their iron because they want to make money. It's easy taking the subway or bus very cheap compared to the taxi's. They charge for everything wi-fi a day $8.00, the mini bar with no alcohol only water, chips, and peanuts. It's close to the beach about 3 blocks very safe, there's a laundry two blocks away I found it when I was leaving. Rooms are expensive. Watching tv almost all channels are Portuguese.
