“Great Location, Very Good Price, good (but not great) Hotel”
Hotel is located one block in land from Copacabana beach (as the name would suggest). The location is by far the best part of the hotel. The rooms are OK. A few things of note. The hotel conserves energy by using the room key to complete the electrical circuit for the room. This means that the air conditioning does not work when you are not in the room. When you enter the room it is hot and it takes some time to cool it down. This wasn't a big deal for us because it was fairly temperate when we were there, but it could have been far more annoying if it were really hot/humid outside. Also, I wasn't the biggest fan of one of the men at the front desk. He seemed kind of shady. When we got tickets to a soccer game through the hotel (the game and the tour were very good), he insisted that we pay in case even though the ad clearly said that they would accept credit cards. We had no problems with the other front desk attendant. The hotel is also located on a busy street, so if your room faces the beach and is on a lower floor, you will hear street traffic. The free breakfast was very good. There was plenty of fresh fruit. We had a big breakfast every morning and that saved us a lot on lunches. Lastly, the view from the rooftop pool was great. Unfortunately, there isn't a ton of room up there (four tables and 5 lounge chairs), but it was still noteworthy.

The hotel should offer the internet service for free as compliment to customers and it should have wireless Internet in the rooms.
“Hotel in Rio”
Hotel was fine and experience good except of the disappointment of the pool being out of commission for the entire stay.
“Stay at another hotel”
The breakfast was excellent, that is all that I can say good about this place. It is near the beach, too, a couple blocks over which is OK. The rooms were small and not comfortable at all. The window didn't lock closed and kept opening and it was nearly impossible to have a shower with the little trickle of water coming out of it. Front desk staff could care less. And, don't sit on the sofas in the lobby, they are as hard as cement, but they look nice.
