A great basic place to stop. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Breakfast facility and choices were excellent.

“Would Stay Again”

Cheerfully greeted by Cecilia and Patrick, very friendly and courteous. Clean room and very comfortable bed, especially soft and extra pillows (I really need soft ones to sleep) with extra amenities which we did not use. The breakfast was free and very resonable selection.... I would suggest staff to have supply of cold water with juices, milk and hot water! I came with my kids for a personal family visit. My son did use free WiFi internet for his homework. Price for the stay was very reasonable...booked through Expedia and got what we had expected. A very good friendly customer service and very comfortable room.

“One night stop on the way to Mammoth”

A decent hotel on the main drag in Ridgecrest. Made a one night stop on our way to Mammoth. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the TV worked well. Breakfast was pretty basic, cereal, yoghurt, hard boiled eggs, bagels. They did have a waffle maker and they had biscuits and gravy but no one was touching it so I didn't either.

“Ridgecrest Best Western Plus”

Friendly staff. Carpet in the room needed to be cleaned, but otherwise it was acceptable. The bedding was very nice and the bed was comfortable. We could hear the upstairs guests walking around, but they went to bed early so we had no trouble sleeping. It was convenient to have a continental breakfast included and also an in-room coffee, microwave and refrigerator. It was the best value in town, but not the nicest of the hotels available.

“Nothing like a cold shower when there's snow on the ground.”

Usually I stay at the Heritage when I go to Ridgecrest, but I needed to do laundry, and Best Western supposedly had facilities and supplies for this. When I got to the hotel, staff was very helpful, checkin was smooth and easy. The next morning, i went to take a shower, and the faucet wasn't able to control the water temperature. It was either very cool or scalding. It had been recently serviced, and the handle was assembled incorrectly, and apparently the person doing the repair didn't understand how it worked, and didn't bother to test the faucet when they were done. After freezing in the shower, I went to make a cup of coffee to warm up and, lo and behold, there was no coffee in the basket next to the pot. So, I got dressed, walked across the street and got a cup of coffee. I came back with my coffee and grabbed a load of laundry, went to the washer and dryer, and saw they used powdered soap, so I started the washer fill before placing the clothes in the washer so I could dissolve the powder and not get clumps of soap on the clothes. I turned around and put quarters into the soap dispenser, only to find there was no soap in any of the 4 slots they had for soap. The clock is ticking on my washer, and I have no soap. They found some after about 10 minutes, so I had to unplug the washer while they were looking. Since it was a hot load and there was snow on the ground (due to unseasonably cold weather), the water was only warm by the time I got the load in.

“Unfortunate noise level”

The hotel appears to have been recently built or rennovated so the room quality was in very good condition with very nice amenities, including an LCD flat panel TV. I only experienced one minor problem with the amenities in that the hair dryer in our room wasn't working. On this basis, I would have no problems recommending this hotel, except for the single issue that caused us to check-out early and seek shelter elsewhere: the noise. The walls and flooring were paper-thin. We heard traffic noise all night long from the streets, and all other noises including: footsteps from floor above, all plumbing noises, and voices and TV from the rooms next door and above us. Since I couldn't fall asleep from the street noise, I was awake most of the night. At about 2AM, the occupants in the room above us woke up, traversed the room (more noises), and turned on the TV (which I could hear). Needless to say, I did not sleep at all that night. We checked-out and spent the next night at SpringHill Suites and had a much more enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend SpringHill or the Hampton Inn that is under construction across the street. Either would be a much better choice than this Best Western.
