The restaurant at the Berkeley is, like many restaurants in Richmond, outlandishly overpriced. There are more affordable and much better options down the street.

“Always a great place to stay”

The Berkeley Hotel is my favorite place to stay in Richmond. It's a beautiful boutique hotel and each room is unique. The location couldn't be better; it's close to great restaurants and nightlife. The hotel has a small bar and restaurant and the service is superb. Turndown service is always offered and adds a nice touch. This hotel is worth every penny.

“Beautiful hotel in inconvenient location”

THis was a beautiful hotel in what appeared to be a very quaint area. However, it was a long way from the centre of the city - actually I don't think I ever found it. I arrived in the evening- the train station is a $30 trip into Richmond. The next day was a public holiday- nobody told me( a negative for the hotel) & nothing was open. So I would not recommend a visit to Richmond, but if you have to go the Berkley Hotel is very comfortable with reasonable rates . The downside is the distance from places of interest.

“Good choice for Downtown Richmond.”

Stayed for 1 night on a Saturday. Very convenient & close to all the main restaurants & places to see in downtown. The staff was very nice & the room was comfy. Don't pay for valet parking, there's a public parking place about a block from hotel on the ramp by I-64. We paid $4 overnight and it's safe. For breakfast/brunch there's a cool restaurant about a block from hotel on East Cary St. called Urban FarmHouse Market Cafe which is a lot cheaper than eating at hotel. Overall, very nice place to stay. Just make sure you get a good deal on Expedia or other travel websites. Don't pay full price.

“Nice hotel in a good location”

The hotel was in a good location where I could find street parking and also walk to some attractions (White House of the Confederacy and the State Capitol). The room was a suite and was very nice.

“a pleasant hotel and location”

we were not given two beds as requested, and there were beers in the toilet tank that stopped the toilet from working until we figured out what it was (true!), AND THE HOTEL IS SMALL WITHOUT A LOT OF AMENITIES, BUT IT IS A REALLY PLEASANT PLACE AND A GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY. WE WOULD GO BACK.

“It's worth the money”

You get a hotel room at a good price. Rooms are nice, not overwhelming, service is a little slow, but overall I am satisfied. Location of the hotel is good, close to State Capitol and to many shops and restaurants.

Would stay there again. The location is very good for tourists
