I've stayed at other La Quita's and been impressed by their cleanliness, quality and service. Unfortunately, that was not the case at La Quita Inn & Suites at Richmond-Midlothian. The elevator was dirty, and their were many deferred maintenance items obvious in the elevator and common areas. In the room, the light above the sink worked at night but not the next morning, nor did the outlets at the sink work. the shower faucet handle was about to fall off and it was almost impossible to regulate the water temperature. Unfortunately, we were already well settled into the room before we realized the room issues.
We shared these concerns when checking out and the manager said, "Oh, we don't usually put paying customers in that room because of all the problems." The hotel was far from full, so that didn't seem like a good reason. She went on to explain that the sink light and outlet don't work when the buildings outside lights are turned off. --Again, someone should have foreseen this. She apologized for us being assigned the room but offered no discount on that or future stay. Very disappointing.
Oh, and the coffee maker was setting in a place where it not only was unplugged, but could not reach a plug. Not a big thing in itself, but taken together it was a very disappointing stay.
