“Very Nice Hotel within Walking Distance of Good Restaurants”

I really enjoyed my stay at the Richmond Downtown Doubletree. I was in town for a sorority reunion at Popkin Tavern. I only walked three blocks to the restaurant & I was very much at ease walking alone to meet my friends.

“Great value for the price”

Great central location and excellent staff service. Rooms need to be updated a bit but all in all it was a good value and I would recommend this hotel (esp. for business).

“Nice stay”

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is conveniently located. The lobby is nice and the room was very comfortable. It was a good compliment to my trip in Richmond.

“OK”

Sink water handle hit against back of area when shut off. Other minor maintenance issues. Showing it's age.

“Good not great”

When you arrive, you must valet park your car. There are no lots or a parking garage. There are not alot of restaurants around, as it borders the campus of VCU Downtown. But, the people are very friendly and try to help. I think I would stay there again, if pressed. The manager did personally call me and the maid service noticed my warm beer in the room needed ice and they iced it without me having to ask for ice. Nice

“Lukewarm”

The hotel front desk staff seemed eager to be helpful but many lacked basic training. The parking staff didn't suggest any other options other than valet services even though on-street parking was plentiful. In fact, I parked my car outside the hotel during my stay. The wifi was turned off in the hotel and needed to be reset. After speaking to several staff, one helpful front desk staff was able to identify the problem and turn it on. Perhaps the weekday staff are better trained.

“Dirty underwear in bathroom!”

I stayed here for a friend's wedding this weekend. This hotel was just renovated from the "Radisson" to a "Doubletree" in the Spring, so you'd think it would be amazing. I paid for a "spacious corner king" room, which in the end only had the same furniture as my friend's regular room, just with lots of empty space (looked like there was lots of furniture missing). No fridge, iron or ironing board in the rooms, which is odd. And to top it all off - there was a dirty pair of women's underwear hanging over the shower rod when we checked in! YUCK!!! The bed was comfy, but that's about it.

“Decent but Nothing Special”

I stayed here last weekend for the first time. The price wasn't bad, but it was no where as nice as a few other downtown Richmond hotels. The actual room was very large but the service was lacking. They could be a little more friendly and the room service needs to become better at cleaning the hallways etc.

“Not impressed”

I called ahead and asked for all of the down to be removed from the room due to allergies. I was told that it would be done and there would be no problems. They removed the down comforter, but left the down pillows. I also think $18 to park overnite when you already pay for the room is a little excessive. I visited Richmond for the NASCAR race, and the hotel provided a shuttle to a parking lot to catch another shuttle. It actually would have been more convienient for the hotel to arrange a taxi to the race.

“Nothing Special”

I believe it was rated three stars but should have been a two
