“Confort et silence dans le quartier des Chevaliers”

Ce séjour hivernal à Avalon Boutique Hotel (7 nuits) nous a permis une plongée dans l’histoire et l’histoire de l’art de la ville de Rhodes et de l’île. L’hôtel, très calme, est situé au cœur même de la ville médiévale des chevaliers – derrière leurs célèbres « auberges » – et son style reflète celui des lieux historiques : sobriété des bâtisses en pierre, arcades et patios byzantins agrémentés d’arbustes odorants et de fleurs aux couleurs vives. L’endroit, même en hiver, est idéal pour qui veut se familiariser avec les monuments et le dédale des rues de la vieille ville tout en pouvant se reposer au cours de la journée et le soir. Les quartiers bruyants en sont très éloignés. A noter qu'en principe on ne peut pas y garer de voiture, sauf hors saison avec un peu de chance. L’accueil a été irréprochable et nous avons fait nôtre ce lieu pendant la semaine que nous y avons passée. Suite confortable, bien chauffée (nous sommes en hiver !) et bien aménagée. Les petits déjeuners personnalisés sont variés et copieux. Sur le plan touristique, il vaut mieux éviter un séjour à Rhodes pendant les 10 ou 12 premiers jours de janvier en raison de certains fériés et des jours de fermeture des musées et des sites historiques.

“La chambre "Nymphos" est à éviter!”

Nous avons été très déçus par cet hôtel. L'accueil était quasi inexistant, la personne à la réception ne parlant que grec . Il a fallu transporter nous-mêmes les bagages à pied jusqu'à l'hôtel dans les rues pavées de la vieille ville Nous avions la chambre "Nymphos" laquelle est borgne (pas de fenêtre, sauf dans le petit "salon" ) et les éclairages sont insuffisants ou défectueux. Aucune vue depuis la chambre! Beaucoup de choses en mauvais état, notamment dans la salle de bain. Le charme ne devrait pas rimer avec laissez-aller! On manque de professionnalisme dans cet hôtel.
