I was travelling along and searching for something inexpensive for a hotel outside the large cities. I found this VERY reasonable priced hotel on Expedia to be highly rated and for very good reason. I have never done better for the money anywhere in Germany.

This is a gem. The owners ( Mr. and Mrs. Wolf were so lovely and welcoming. Mr. Wolf even carried our heavy bags to our 3rd floor room and in the morning put them in our car for us. The hotel is small ( maybe 10 rooms) and is only 5 minutes walk from the lovely old town. The breakfast was huge and the most extensive and greatest variety of all of time in Germany. We were given room 10; a whole floor apartment that was very comfortable.

Situated on Hauptstrasse (Main Street) in old town Heidelberg. It as good to walk every day just as the Germans do. Shops were okay, but plentiful. Also close to Heidelberg's main historical attractrations, the Schloss (Castle) and the Alte Brucke ( the old Bridge).
Room comes with a complementary breakfast which, from my earlier experiences, is typical German. The hotel
s restaurant dinning facilities were not open the 6 days we were there. Our stay coincided with the Autumn school break and the owner took advantage to holiday with his children. (Everyone needs time away from work).
I have stayed in the big chain hotels and enjoy them, but the feeling you get with the classic hotel is special. We knew were were in Germany
