“Wonderful Hotel!”

My husband and recently had a 7 day stay at Room with a View for our honeymoon. We stayed in a studio apartment with a great view of Vegamot and another bar. It was great for people watching. The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. In addition, there was a hot tub on the fourth floor patio, a steamroom and spa area on the second floor and a huge selection of DVDs to borrow. The hotel is located right in the middle of the shopping district with easy access to restuarants, art galleries, and tourists centers for booking excursions. The staff was friendly, knowledgable and helpful. We ended up having one of our most fun evenings due to their suggestions. We both had a wonderful time at Room with a View and I am certain anyone else who stays there will too!

“Great Hotel”

Wonderful location, right on the main street of the city. Can be a little noisy at night being close to all the bars etc so if you're not here to party, maybe stay somewhere else. Great room, clean, good kitchen. Didn't really have a room with a view, except of the club Vegamot. probably ask for one on the front and higher up!

“Perfect location in middle of the city, Friendly, Clean and nice”

location can not be better , A bit noisy late at night - it is in the center of the action for young people. Rooms are speciouse , nice and clean. Staff is friendly and the price very reasonable

“Best Staff Ever!!!”

We were there when the volcano in may 2011 erupted. The staff was extremely helpfull in keeping our room available for us the extra night aswell as continually advising us asto updates to flights and cancelations. They went way above there normal duties to make us feel very welcome and comfortable.

“Best place to stay in Reykjavik”

We spent 5 nights at Room with a View. They let us check in early (at 9 am) and gave generally excellent recommendations for music and restaurants. They refilled our coffee canister and gave us towels to take on day trips without any trouble. The room (512) was spacious with a great deck overlooking the patio and a terrific view. The hot tub was warm (but not hot!) and the jets didn't work. The shower pressure was good if you like it hot but to avoid getting scalded I had to have a less powerful pressure but still adequate for bathing, The location is excellent with all major sights a short walk to the church, harbor, bars, stores, etc. Black out curtains worked well but our room only had two of the three curtains as blackout ones and the one closest to the bed were not blackout so we needed our eye shades big time. Some noise from the street at all hours (e.g. between midnight and 5 am) but really only noticeable on the weekend.

“Room was as good as the pictures”

Our room was just as wonderful as shown on the hotel's website. The room was perfect. Our room did not have a view per se, but we enjoyed being off the main party street. The staff was friendly and helpful. We appreciated the internet access, but there were some glitches with the in-room wireless. The full kitchen was great and we were able to cut expenses by cooking some meals. There is a good grocery nearby as well as a bakery. The neighborhood felt safe, was centrally located and had lots of shops and restaurants. Iceland was the perfect destination for our summer vacation. We booked some tours through Expedia and felt we received a good value compared to if we had to purchase in Iceland.

“The PERFECT place to stay in Reykjavik!”

This place is wonderful! With it's ridiculously central location you can get anywhere easily. Very clean and friendly. They also have a small parking lot to park in if you have a car. I highly recommend staying here!

“Better than Hilton”

Booked this hotel from expedia and called to confirm the reservation and we were told that we will be staying in room 403 and from the picture on their website it doesn't look that nice and almost make us cancelled the reservation as we can't find kitchen from the picture on their website. Luckily we kept our reservation and we stayed in Room with a view for 3 nights after we stayed in Hilton Nordica hotel for 3 nights, so we can have some comparison. The best thing about this hotel/apartment is the location, the mini kitchen and fridge, also they have plenty of dvd to borrow for free, would definitly recommend anyone to this hotel.

“Great hotel-apartment in Reykjavik”

Wonderful hotel, tons of space for the price. Have a lovely apartment down the street from the main location - L-802...full kitchenette with stove/oven, microwave, kettle, refrigerator, utensils etc. Right across the street is Artic Adventures which was great to book tours and excursions.
