Hotel is a bit dated but perfectly clean and perfect for a stay in Iceland. By the bus stops. Breakfast was a god send. Absolutely must take the breakfast option. Sets you up for the day.

It was not what we expected at all, the elevator reeked of cigarettes in our way up, the room was very dingy looking with a cracked sink in the bathroom. The tv didn’t work so we immediately had to call the front desk and Alla was very helpful and kind, she was honestly the best part. The room was freezing and everything felt sticky. The shower felt like a small prison and the curtain was very dingy. Unfortunately I will not be recommending or returning to this hotel or franchise.

I lovrd that room for single .It was clean . Facilities were modern and I was able to control the heating. The breakfast was wonderful too. The staff, especially Christina were very helpful. If I go again , I will stay at Foss Raudara again.

Clean, comfy, great location, friendly staff
This was a wonderful hotel. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were all very helpful and kind. The breakfast is delicious (we only had it one day) and plentiful. It was a short walk from bus stop 13 where the FlyBus shuttle drops you from the airport. It was easy walking distance from Laugavegur which has tons of shopping, grocery, and dining options. You can also easily get to the harbor and see the cool sculptures. It isn’t terribly fancy but it is well-kept and has everything you might need-EXCEPT ADVIL! You can only get medicines at the pharmacy-not grocery or convenience stores or front desk. The blow drier is powerful and there is a towel warmer. There is a mini-fridge and hanging closet with several hangers. It was perfect for what we needed.

Simple. Clean. Ideal location.
The best part of the experience was that the staff were very friendly and accommodating. My room, although very outdated, was very clean. The breakfast provided was simple but satisfactory. Some things that could have been a better experience were the sound levels and the extremely strong sulfuric smell from the hot water. The building is understandably quite old, so sounds of doors slamming, neighboring rooms, and people chattering in the halls were very audible. While Iceland typically has natural spring water running in its pipes, I found Fosshotel’s hot water to be the most pungent out of all the many hotels I stayed at during my trip. The old spring mattresses could also use an update. Overall, this stay gets the job done with giving you a warm and clean place to sleep. It’s an ideal location situated walking distance from many tourist spots, grocery stores, and delicious restaurants. 3 min walk from bus stop 13 and Hlemmur station, which is helpful if you’re taking shuttles or local transportation to popular tourist areas.

Some areas were in need of an update but the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good which are the main things I need in a hotel. We could also walk into town, the harbour area and to Perlan easily. Plenty of dining options and tour bus pick-up locations in walking distance. Reception staff very helpful.

Great location, staff was wonderful, and very helpful. One strong downside was how hot the room got. With no air circulation of any kind (A/C, fans, etc) and only one very small window, it got overly war, and very stuffy, especially in the second floor loft bedroom

Ok budget hotel. Courteously changed first room which had a glazed roof that offered no blackout. Second room had spiral stair that was a constant head hazard & there was rooftop plant noise. Good off street parking. Nice lobby and dining area with good breakfast. Linens were clean. There was no Internet in the room, the staff was quite nonchalant about resolving it or offering any recourse or consideration for the inconvenience. The decor looks like it was from the 1970's with rugs worn through and many items in the room exhibiting signs of end-of-life -- not in line with what was expected from a Fosshotel chain. Unfortunate.

we reserved a design room. the room was on the 1st floor, the windows were painted over, it was impossible to open it. The drain in the shower didn't work so it was impossible to wash off. The next day nothing was repaired and had to move to the 3rd floor. There is a bigger room, with windows, a small but working shower.

Hotel is a bit older but rooms still in good shape. Free underground parking was a plus. Bathrooms lack counter space and fold out bed from couch was really uncomfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Room lacked a curtain- no privacy. No black out curtains in the land of the midnight sun - hard to sleep. Beds are average. Hallway / stairway carpets are threadbare Staff is friendly and tries to help - good attitude.. But cannot fix any issues- since the front desk person is a one man show. Breakfast is average to good. Location great - 1 mile walk to shopping center and restaurants.

The room decor is old, the hot water in shower is geothermal water with a smell.Ok breakfast.

Nice room with everything needed. However very bad service.Checked in around 10pm and the reception was dark as if the hotel was closed down. The lady at reception was very very rude.

Simple and comfortable
This hotel is quite basic but perfectly nice. The staff were lovely, the location was good, and the parking was helpful. It’s not nearly as warm or inviting as the Fosshotel Reykjavík nearby, but it was fine for two of us for the night.

A little worn in places but this didn’t impact on a very comfortable great stay. Room had everything we needed. Breakfast was great, huge choice and set us up for the day. Good location and quiet.
