Nice hotel, with walkways to two other nice hotels

Posted 21-Sep-2014
Pros: Food was great, so is hotel accommodation.
Location: Downtown Reno has gotten pretty seedy over the past few years. Its a shame because the Silver Legacy is a nice hotel, but don't go out at night.
We liked the hotel, but aside from gambling there isn't a lot to do downtown. There are a lot of seedy street people around. We did catch a good comedy show at the Silver Legacy, and another good show at the Eldorado, but that was it for shows downtown.

Staying at the Silver Legacy in RENO

Posted 19-Sep-2014
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: NEWER mattresses: mattresses were very soft!
Location: Fine.
Took my mother (age 82) and my husband (age 75) for a holiday to Silver Legacy (S.L.). My husband and I have stayed at the S.L. a few times before and have always been happy with our 'stay'. My mother had never stayed at the Silver Legacy and had not been in RENO for more than 30 years. Both had a lovely time and my mother loved the 'slots'. Only thing I would change is that we would like 'bigger room' next time and more updated 'beds' and accomodations. Thank you.

My first trip to Reno

Posted 19-Sep-2014
Pros: I liked the location, the brightness and elegant decoration, the beds were comfortable, the easy check in, the room was very clean, a great view, the
Cons: I can't think of anything at this time.
Location: I can't tell you about things near bybecasue we were there for one night. We arrive around 6pm and left the next morning around 10am after eating bre
I went on Expedia after arriving in Reno after a drive up fron Las Vegas. It had a good price and good reviews so I booked it. There were some cheaper hotels in the area but this one was close to where we were parked and it was impressive so we decided to stay and I am glad we did. The parking was free so I thought that made up for the higher cost for the room and everything was right there so we didn't have to leave for anything. There was an atrium which had people walking around inside and the lobby was so nice and clean and the lady at the fron desk was so nice. She asked if we wanted a high floor and when I told her this was the first time we had travel to Reno she gave us a room with a view. They had very nice shops, it was bright and airy and the slot machines area was nice so atleast we felt comfortable loosing our money in the slot machines. It was not stuffy. One thing I really liked was that there was security at the elevator and you had to show your key before getting on the elevator that made me feel a little safer since I spent time in the room along while my other half was downstairs at the slot machines most of the night. We enjoyed the Hotel and had dinner there that night and breakfast there the next morning.

Nice central location in Reno

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Pros: Good bars, decent food, centrally located
Cons: Reservation system. If I book non-smoking, give me non-smoking. I don't understand why that is so difficult.
Location: Nice weather, great views of the city and mountains in the distance, river nearby
We booked specifically a non-smoking room, but were told when we got there that they had only smoking rooms. This was terribly upsetting to me, and after speaking briefly with her supervisor, we were given a non-smoking room. We were told it was an "upgrade to a superior room," but it seemed to be the exact same thing we were expecting, so.. *shrugs*. At any rate, it was perfectly fine for what we needed it for, which was a place to keep our stuff and a place to sleep after hanging out in the casino and a couple bars out nearby. It's a good location in Reno - connected to Circus Circus and Eldorado, as you can see in the details. Reno's nice in the daytime too - Silver Legacy is just a short walk from the river, which, while super dehydrated right now, makes for a cute afternoon stroll.

Quality of dinner meals.

Posted 12-Sep-2014
Pros: It was convenient to where I was going.
Location: Easy walk to Santa Fe Basque restaurant on Lake st.
One of the worst meals I ever had was at Hussongs. I had the fish tacos and I had a hard time finding the fish. It appeared that a pound of tilapia would make appoximately 100 tacos in your establishment.

Downtown. Close to all casinos

Posted 12-Sep-2014
Pros: The ambiance is just terrific with the decor still mind boggling.
Cons: Check in desk still need more staff.
Location: Ten neighborhood is still interesting so walking around has a lot of interesting sites. The EL DORADO still has great shows.
Arrived Sunday night. Found 24 hour CAFE CENTRAL closed at 9PM. The 24/7 meant nothing. The famous FLAVORS BUFFET was not open on Monday and Tuesday. Fortunately the attached El Dorado was able to serve us food on these days.
