“Regina is cold”
It was - 21 C when I arrived and the heater in the room could not keep up. It was cold in the room for the first two nights.
“Nice but expensive”
Very comfortable for 1 person, room could have used 2 easy chairs for 2 people.
“Visibly Dirty Bathroom and Carpet - YUK!”
When my husband & I checked in to our Regina Ramada Hotel room & I initially used the bathroom, the first thing I noticed was 2 of the 4 lights in the bathroom were out and the bathtub was discolored with soap scum. YUK! As I was unpacking, I used our Lysol spray to spray the tub so at least I felt the tub was disinfected when we showered the next morning. Shortly afterward I noticed the message light on the telephone was blinking. As I was trying to figure out how to retrieve the message, I was prompted on how to contact the front desk. I did and reported the bathroom lights being out with the thought of determining if it would be possible to mention the dirty tub sort of 'off the record' to whomever came up. A very nice middle aged man came up to swap out the two light bulbs, and it was clear to me I would have to contact the front desk if I chose to do anything official about the dirty tub. As my husband and I continued to get settled, I again noticed the blinking message light; and my husband worked through the phone tree receiving a welcome message and handed me the phone to contact the front desk as I had previously done. When I told the front desk about the dirty tub & by this time I had noticed the dirty (sticky) carpet & other parts of the bathroom pretty gross, the lady was pretty upset & eventually came up to note exactly what was wrong to notify housekeeping & give us breakfast vouchers for the next morning. More although the problems were not corrected.
“water odor, cleaning staff knew how to mask it but”
by evening of our first night we were wondering what the smell was wet wall or wet carpeting. cleaning staff were able to mask it in the morning cleanup but it was back late the next day. staff were great location is great. we would return as long the price is right.
“disappointing”
sheets had not been changed on beds (hairs & stains on sheets) and tv reception very poor but they fixed both very quickly so no big problem
“Ramada in Regina Sask, Canada”
Hotel was easy to find, good underground parking, lovely lobby. The service at front desk was friendly and very fast. Parking was 6.00 a night which i never agree with, i believe hotel patrons should get someplace to park their cars with their room cost. The pub had a very rude waitress that didn't really appear to want to be there. Don't know why I tipped her. But I did, habit i suppose. When we returned that evening we discovered that there was many girls basketball teams staying there and took us about half an hour to get to our room from the basement parking because they were playing in the elevators. This was extremely annoying and I thought the hotel management should of done something about it as there were 2 weddings being held there as well and I heard many people complaining of the inconvenience. But I also had children in tournaments so I do understand the issues better then most. It would not stop me from staying here again. The pool area, gym and hot tub were lovely and beautifully decorated, wish I had more time I would of spent alot more time there. The rooms were very comfortable, very clean and when I asked for extra conditioner, cream and sugar at the front desk they sent someone up with it quite quickly. My daughter had also forgotten a toothbrush and she was able to receive a free one from the front desk. I would recommend this hotel as it really was clean and lovely with excellent service for the most part
“Comfortable but worn...”
This hotel could use an upgrade. It's comfortable, but the dings, cracks, and scratches are noticeable. It's very conveniently located in downtown Regina, and the price is right, but it's time for a renovation, guys. Breakfast service is bewildering - the place was only about 25% full, but the waitresses seemed to be harried and not used to that level of busyness. The food was standard - a little too cool for my liking, and therefore probably a function of their not being used to having to serve "so many" people. Underground parking is handy and convenient. My room was adequate - the AC quiet and effective. The TV picture was very bad - it did not matter which channel I tried, the color tube was clearly shot, and the picture became hard to watch after awhile. The bathroom had everything it needed - but the counter was cracked, the drain slow, and the grout around the backsplash cracked and therefore dirty. The mirror had begun to show signs of crazing. None of this made me feel disgusted. The bed was great. It's kinda like realizing that the jeans you have been wearing for a couple of years are suddenly not quite right for the meeting you are about to attend. They're very comfortable and all but - something new would be nicer. I would consider going back to the Ramada, but there are newer and upgraded hotels available in Regina, and if they have rooms available at the same price - I'll pick them first, and go back to the Ramada after it has been renovated.
“High end experience for very reasonable price”
A very nice hotel with a high end experience at very reasonable prices. The pool, hot but, and workout area was one of the best I've experienced. There is a diverse range of restaurants close by and a mall a few blocks away.
“Great Central Regina Location”
I've stayed twice at the Regina Ramada-- once for business and once for a family trip. The desk staff were very pleasant, The heated underground parking in the middle of January was so good. The pool area was beautiful and all the pools were nice and warm. The kids loved it.
