"Freehand is wonderful! This was our third time staying at Freehand LA. It is in such a great location—very walkable and close to everything! You are downtown yet don’t feel “smothered” in the super busy areas. Our favorite part is the hotel rooftop, where there is a restaurant, great bar and very relaxing pool area (this is called the Broken Shaker). We arrived early and even though our room wasn’t ready, we could safely leave our bags and still use the amenities such as the gym and rooftop. The hotel is in an older building but the renovations and decor give it a nice clean, modern feeling where its charm can be appreciated from both aspects. Thank you for a wonderful experience! "

"I got exactly what I needed for a great price. The rooms are simple but very clean. The neighborhood has homeless but there is a great security staff that lets you feel safe from interference without feeling like you are in a police state. "
