"Family of 8 from Toronto"
The hotel is situated on top of a hill. The scenery is breathtaking! We were greated by la signora Menna, a wonderful lady. She was very accommodating and very pleasant to deal with. The hotel has a pool and a very large terrace overlooking the gorgeous landscape below, very spectacular! We booked through expedia for 2 quadruple rooms. Rooms were very spacious with a full service kitchenette. The only unfavorable comment I have is that we found the 30.00 euro cleaning fee per room quite extensive as we only stayed for one night and an additional hotel fee of $45.00 per room was charged as they stated that additional beds were put in the rooms to accommodate 4 people per room. As previously stated we had booked for quadruple rooms, therefore had prepaid for 4 beds per room - hence the additional 45.00 should not have been charged. Overall, in spite of the additional fees, based on scenery, la signora Menna's great service and room size, we would definitely stay at this hotel again. In addition, parking for a 9 seater van was available with no problems. Thank you signora Menna!

"Rovello is the place to stay."
The 3 days we spent in this hotel and surrounding area, met and exceeded our expectations. The view from our balcony was breath taking. You can tell how attentive the staff in the hotel are by, the simple fact they new who you were and our room number every time you approached them. That is the sign of professional staff. The food was excellent. Note this is not a cheap place to stay. But nothing is on the Amalfi coast. Well worth the extra costs. Rovello is much more subdued than the town of Amlafi, however it has better views and is much easier to drive too. I would not recommend driving the roads between Amalfi and Sorrento. There are several places that buses and cars can not pass. For 7 Euro's you can ride the buses fro 24 hours. ( a great investment)

"Great Hotel and location."
Such a clean and lovely place with temperpedic mattresses and pillows that were heaven! The art in the hotel was stunning as were the views. I realize the staff all work very hard, but there is one area that was a problem for us..the quality of the dinner food was not very good. Our waiter was fantastic and he tried to make up for this. He could see how unfortunate it was that we received poor quality food. Please change your quality and your chef expertise. The prices are too expensive $$$$ for what we paid for quality-wise. The breakfast was much better than the dinner. We loved everything else about this hotel!!!! Thank you Paolo for helping us with the luggage!! You are a very nice respectful young man! Grazie Hotel Villa Fraulo!! Ciao!

"Excellent quiet hotel in central location"
We stayed in the Giordano for three nights of six day stay on the Amalfi coast and wished we had stayed for more. The hotel was mid sized and had all the facilities we wanted. It doesn't have its own restaurant which for us didn't matter as we were out all day and enjoy trying different restaurants at night. The rooms were very adequate and have well equipped and thought out bathrooms. There is a lovely swimming pool - very welcome at the end of a day's sightseeing.

"THE VIEW WAS INCREDIBLE !"
We happened along Hotel Graal while searching through TripAdvisor and are so happy that we did. Sure, everyone comments on the view....and it certainly is stunning.... breath taking in fact ! Just as amazing was the equally appealing hotel staff. Antonella ! you were wonderful. Helpful in every way and patient with our every request. Our room was everything we could ask for. The adjoining restaurant (Al ristoro del moro) food selection and service was wonderful. Just be aware that the hotel and restaurant are not associated and you may not charge your meals to your room. Not really an issue....it's just a matter of knowing this. If Amalfi Coast is your destination, we would strongly recommend considering Graal as your home away from home. The drive to the hotel is and will always be a wonderful and fun experience ! To the staff at Graal, our compliments and thanks for such a wonderful experience !

"Great views."
Over 300 steps from town centre but that gives you good views and away from other tourists. Very basic breakfast left in fridge for 2 days and room not made up after first morning. Need to be fit (and carry minimal luggage) to enjoy this b&b. Only a small bar up the street that opens at 4pm so may want to take extra food with you. Worth the effort.

"An Outstanding Stay"
An unexpected gem in the heart of the pedestrian only historic center of Ravello. Don't let the very reasonable rate lower your expectations because this hotel has it all. Steps from the Ravello Festival venue, Castle Rolofo, and its magnificant gardens, the hotel offers underground parking, and a roof top terrace that offers sun bathing along with spectacular views day and night. Rooms are immaculate, the Nespresso machine much appreciated, and the proprietress Yumi is warm and quick to be of help. I travel with my dog who was made welcome but remember not to leave him alone in the room as I did. Yumi was very professional about it which was sppreciated. Highly recommend.

Residence Villa Rosa - Ravello Hotels

Residence Villa Rosa

"Italian Paradise"
Residenze Villa Rosa took my breath away from the moment I arrived. Perched on a near cliff-face overlooking terraced lemon groves and the sea. In the afternoon you could hear goat bells chiming in harmony and the scent of jasmine drifts in through the windows from the beautifully kept gardens that surround the apartments. Now it's true, if you have any kind of mobility problem this probably isn't the place for you. On arrival you either have to negotiate a steep path down from the gate from the road (where a bus from Amalfi can drop you off), or up 300 steps from the village of Atrani, but it's totally worth the effort. Once you arrive you feel that you've left the tourists behind and you're seeing the real Italy. It's incredibly romantic. Amalfi is 20 mins walk away with its huge selection of restaurants, but Atrani has some great little family run places to eat which are more authentic and cheaper. I stayed in Room 5 which has a large studio room, a comfortable bed, a great little kitchen, spectacular views and the biggest private terrace that I've ever seen. To stock the kitchen I just walked 10 minutes up towards Ravello to the Spar supermarket, and then on the way home I was coming downhill with my shopping. My one word on warning would be that Franco (who is wonderful) who runs the place doesn't speak a word of English. Having an Italian phrasebook in hand for check-in will make your life a lot easier. Really cant recommend the place enough. Thanks Franco!

Pocket Guide: Amalfi Coast Ravello Independent Hotels

Balcony views are plentiful along this beautiful coast, but little matches Ravello’s panoramic seascape. Steps from the main square of Piazza Vescovado lead to the cathedral of San Pantaleone– don’t miss the fine marble pulpits. Two villas in lovely gardens also deserve a visit. Villa Rufolo holds a summer festival of classical concerts. The belvedere views from the English-style gardens of the Villa Cimbrone are breathtaking.
