“idyllic romantic getaway for couples”
Everything about the Crown Beach is just perfection, the staff, the gardens, the food, the rooms. We were given a room upgrade because we were "returning guests" so I guess that colours our opinion, but it really is the most idyllic romantic place for couples.
“Exceptionally Friendly Staff”
The staff at the Crown Beach Resort treated us like family. They extended the hospitality of the whole Island to us, informed us of events and other places to eat and shop. Highly recommend this resort.
“Relaxing Christmas Holiday”
We stayed at Crown Beach for 6 nights. Definitely recommend the private Courtyard Pool Suite. Despite some rainy days (fully expected as it is the wet season), we only missed 1 day of pool time. So on that day, I chose to use the unexpected 1hr complimentary massage. Truly relaxing :). The beach and lagoon were enjoyable too... got to play frisbee over Christmas instead of being indoors in chilly UK. The Christmas Eve Santa's Deluxe Feast and Island Night were also very entertaining - amazing dances & drumming! Highly recommend dining at Windjammer too, affordable tasty food. This was our first Pacific Island getaway and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Well done to Crown Beach and all its teams members :)
“Our week at the Crown Beach Resort - Rarotonga”
Great location and ambience right on the beach - and generally adults only so you don't have hoards of screaming kids around the pool. The private courtyard / pool suites are the best buy in my view for comfort, privacy and peace. These rooms are of a high standard - the villa units less so. The hotel overall is good - but can do with an upgrade in certain areas such as the restaurant fit out and water sport amentities. They need to install SKY TV - having Raro local TV only is completely inadequate for a resort posturing to the premium end. Staff are generally friendly and helpful enough - but again for an establishment touting for the premium tourist they need to be better trained and with more polish. Overall well deserving of a recommendation.
“lovely for a honeymoon”
Lovely place to stay. I went here on my honeymoon, each couple has their own villa with beautifully maintained gardens around the entire place. The restaurants on site were very good relative to other ones on the island we went to. All in all a place i would easily stay at again.
“Nice room but service not great”
We got upgraded for free to a beachfront villa which was great - the villa was lovely and the beachfront setting is really nice. It's very close to the reef compared to the eastern side of raro which means it's easier to spot whales. However, the food wasn't great and the staff seemed really disinterested in serving in the restaurants. There's less options to eat elsewhere nearby compared to the area around muri beach. They're also a bit cheeky charging for renting DVDs from reception, and for the use of the hotel pc's, which have been free at other places we've stayed. There was also quite a strong smell of the drains, and also the water in the pool was quite murky which was quite disappointing. A couple got married on the beachfront while we were there though and the staff did make the ceremony area look very nice.
