“Good service from the people”
Unfortunately, the key had to be changed many times because it didn't work after a day.
“OK to stay for the price”
My only complaint is that the wireless internet was on a very low connection.I was able to check my email only once and the rest of the time I was unable to connect. Breakfast was very plain but free. I picked this place because it advertised internet connection, so I was disappointed.
“I will not recommend this hotel”
When I enter the room, there is a strange smell. (although the room is non-smoking). My kids are not satified. Anyway, the price is cheap.
“Cheap, sorta clean, but you want breakfast elsewhere”
A pretty decent motel for the money, the internet worked most of the time, but the breakfast was really limited and I'd plan on eating elsewhere.
“reasonable, close to Duke, but NOT IMPRESSED!”
The price was very reasonable, but the room smelt stale and the bathtub was disgusting. It did have amenities such as a microwave and refrigerator, but we didn't need them.
“Would not go back”
We reserved nonsmoking rooms, all the rooms smelled like smoke. I felt very unsafe. The police had to come by twice just the first day.
“Wasn't expecting much . . . and got a bit less than that.”
Lots of square footage for the dollar, as they had remodeled to combine two rooms into one suite. On the down side, that remodeling had apparently taken place during the Eisenhower administration, and it was done on the cheap. Although the rooms seem to have been cleaned, there was an overall grimy feel that comes from many years of use without a freshening up. The service was fine. The breakfast fare will tide you over until you get to your car. I found much better lodgings for almost the same price the next night, and I would not recommend this particular Inn to anyone. It was my first stay at an America's Best Value location, and it put me off on that brand's motley collection of hotels. The whole point of a national brand is the assurance it provides travelers of a certain level of quality. Fail.
“Cheap room that wasn't cheap enough...”
We tried to save some money on our hotel room while dropping our first child off to college. Guess the old adage "you get what you pay for" applied here. Only we paid too much! The hotel looked more like a scary "extended stay" place. A lot of people "hanging out" in and around the hotel and on the 2nd floor balcony. Inside the room we found opened shampoo bottle in the shower with no new soap or shampoo. No kleenex in the "in the wall" metal dispenser, no hand towels or wash cloths. And the smoke detector was beeping every 30-60 seconds because the battery was going dead or was already dead. The toilet had large pieces broken off of it and the circular seat didn't match the egg shape of the toilet. And at night there was a lot more screaming and yelling than you'd expect at any hotel anywhere. Next time we'll pay a little more and get what we pay for...
“Stay away from this hotel”
This seedy hotel was in terrible disrepair when I stayed in June of 2008. The water faucet leaked, the bathtub looked grimey, paint on the walls was peeling, and the carpet was dirty. They were re-modeling the reception area, and it looked like a disorganized construction zone. I was ignored when I tried to check in (the three people at the front desk made me wait five minutes while they joked with each other and counted change from their cash register). The breakfast buffet was not well-stocked, attended, or neatly presented. This really was unpleasant.
“Not impressed”
Great value for location and price but not clean at all the room had everything the ad said it would except the (5) HBO's they had SHOWTIME instead and the sheets, towels, and coffee pot were not cleaned i'd suggest future visitors to bring their own coffee pot if you drink coffee and to bring you own sheets and towels just in case your room isn't clean also ...i asked housekeeping in a very polite way to clean the shower/tub and sheets and all they did was make the bed
