“Perfect Location”
We stayed at the Colonial House for nearly two weeks and found the owner Oneila to be extremely lovely. It was in a great location just a couple of blocks from the old town. We cooked our meals almost every night and the kitchen was very clean. The sitting area was also well equiped with dvds and books. we had a most enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend it to fellow travellers. I also booked my tour to the Galapagos through them and we also arranged Spanish lessons. Top place, we really enjoyed our time here.
“Will always book this hotel when in Quito!”
The staff here made this a truly lovely experience. We were greeted by a taxi driver at the airport just as we had been promised even though our flight arrived early. The staff at the front desk oriented us to Quito using a map and asked us what we wanted to experience, recommendations ready. The next morning they gave us a complimentary homemade blackberry smoothie, which we ate in the lovely courtyard outside. This was a charming hotel very close to the historic part of Quito and a short walk away from great views of the city- I will look to stay here every time I return to Quito. The only reason I gave it a 4 on comfort is because this isn't a resort- the beds are not super plush but I didn't desire anything while I was there.
“Colonial House Hostal, Quito”
Very good price, good location in the Centro Historico, helpful and friendly and compassionate staff (we were robbed and had all ID, camera, money etc. stolen and they were sympathetic, compassionate and helped in every way they could).
“Quitos quiet hostel”
We had arranged for a pickup at the airport (which was lovely as our trip was delayed by a couple hours). Upon arrival we met the lovely staff (who spoke some english) and we tried organising a tour to the Equator line the following day. We were told the tour would cost $30 so agreed to the trip (we had even asked if the price was per person or total - and it was agreed that it was $30 total for a 3hr trip -- although this may just have been a language problem). When we were dropped off we found out from our guide it was actually $30 each - so a not so nice surprise. The breakfast was also very nice.
“Lovely hostel”
Friendly staff, great location as only 15mins to old or new town. Clean and spacious rooms. Good for price.
