“yes it was great & would definitely go back!”
if you want a great stay away from home with all the comforts & very friendly staff then this is the place ot be!
“Beautiful Sofitel..”
This was our first trip to Queenstown, and we were very happy with our choice. Sofitel is everything you could imagine, definitly 5star!! The only exception, is that on our first night our room overlooked the bars, and we were up until 4am with all the loud music, and this was a Sunday night!! They were happy to change our room, whcih made a HUGE difference. I definitly recommend staying here, very central to restaurants, bars.. Beautiful hotel.
“Great location and comfort in Queenstown”
The Sofitel in Queenstown has a great location and very comfortable rooms, located in central Queenstown. I have stayed here before and will stay here again. This time I stayed six nights for business. The valet parking was a little slow but the cost is low compared to most locations. The rooms were very clean and well serviced. The room service from the restaurant was quick and efficient and overall the service was great. My big bug-bear, is that like most hotels, Sofitel in Queenstown charges like a wounded ull for internet access. This really gets up my nose as it is a key part of what business and some leisure travelers are looking for. In saying that, we will stay at Sofitel Queenstown again as the overall package of location, comfort and service is excellent.
“Unbelievable hotel in the heart of Queenstown”
Fabulous hotel! My wife and have traveled the world and been at many hotels. I think this is the best hotel we've stayed in ever. World class, luxury hotel, built in 2005, has ALL the modern amenities. When we checked in, Bryan, the head concierge showed us to our room. Not only that, he spent 10 minutes explaining every nuances in the hi-tech, ultra modern, yet warm and inviting room. From the Flat screen TV remote and the Bose speaker, to the jacuzzi jet tub (that easily fits me, my wife and my 2 year old), to the TV in the bathroom, to the expresso machine with complimentary expresso. Room even had a little balcony. The service was truly special, with the beds being turned-over leaving complimentary bottled water! We utilized the concierge service to book tours to the TSS Earnshaw cruise tour, and the Kawarau Bungy Jump. The hotel is literally less than a block from the Lake in the heart of Queenstown. We walked everywhere in the small, but packed streets. Close to everything, including eateries, Mall Street, Fergburger (delicious), the Atlas bar (killer lamb chops). We got a great price for the hotel which makes this an even better deal. Drawbacks: No free/self parking, so had to valet. Internet expensive, but similar to all hotels in Queenstown. Gym small (only had 1 treadmill and couple of bikes). Not much you could do, but got a run in on the treadmill and did a CrossFit workout in the room. Overall, great hotel for a great price. So glad we stayed there for 3 nights!!
“fantastic location”
great service, fantastic location right opposite the ski bus, town centre and restaurants. good sized rooms very comfortable. Our extended family of 9 were easily accomodated on the same floor next to one another.
“very good hotel”
The service was very good and the staff were lovely to deal with, also my family were happy with the condition of the hotel. Its in a great spot, very close to the beach and to the shoping center. Its in the middle of everything which makes it easy to go around and explore the place with no need of transportation. I'll book again with Sofitel Queenstown Hotel for next visit.
“Perfect location in Queenstown.”
We stayed in April 2012 and loved it. The staff were fantastic, the room was great and location was the best. The only negative was the Gym which probably wouldn't affect most guests but my husband had to get a gym pass most days as the treadmill was not good in the gym and it seemed like a dungeon, but most wouldn't really go to the gym anyway. The restaraunt in the hotel was great. Very chic and classy with great food, highly recommend a visit. Other than the Gym we had a perfect stay for 7 nights and will definately go back.
“Best in Queenstown”
Great location and facilities but the most impressive aspect was the staff who went out of their way to make us happy. Classy establishment.
“great, but just be certain you don't need a view”
loved the room, decor, etc...had the executive level - 6th floor rooms..it recall it being advertised as a view room being the top floor but only thing was -really just a few top floor rooms have a real view of the lakeside. i was there for 4 days and i had a view of the hillside - that was not great. but couldn't get moved to another view room - as they said none came available. but we were outside a lot so it didn't really matter in reality, but would have felt better if i had just not ever expected a view at all. for the price you are paying- for the same price you could get a nice view room else where - but likeley won't get the location, decor and service, etc. overall very nice, and worth the splurge if you can afford it -and want a special experience - but cheaper options are available - that are pretty good. The novotel is a great location and rooms though not as luxurious and less service, and smaller- they are nice - likley worth the trade off - of 40% less a night. i did 4 nights here and 3 nights at novotel. both good.
